My 2000 Jeep WJ has the factory "Flame Red" paint. The clear coat is peeling and the paint has faded in some areas. I want to repaint it the same color, but add a bit of _something_ extra to it. I sure would love it if you would revisit this Flame Red base coat with some darker red pearls over it. Even a Red to Black cherry shift, possibly? Thank you so much for these 'Let's Spray' video series. They are the sole reason I subscribed.

The 10 PSI on the cap is the optimal pressure for most modern spray guns. You can actually buy pressure gauges that connect to the caps on some of the high end guns to set your optimal pressure. I believe the practice of measuring the cap pressure is utilized in production cabinet work, so the cabinet finishes are consistent.

I did my base with the mcgraw 6 gallon compressorand the purple spray gun, and it came out fine. But no matter what I tried the clear was coming out like Cobb webs. I tried adjusting air pressure and fluid, but same result. I ordered a 100$ 800w two part electric paint sprayer to see if that works lol 😅 your work is beautiful as always my friend

@MrgreenurPastures Many thanks, brother! I'm sorry to hear about the clearcoat. The only clear I've used that dried at the cap was the speedokote overall clearcoat. I think it might have been the activator speed.. it was a very hot day, and I was using a fast speed activator. idk 🤷🏻‍♂️ Good luck with the electric sprayer!

There’s lots of topcoats that will blow you away when sprayed over red but it depends on what you want it to look like in the end. Do you want the red to make the main statement or do you want the top coat making that main statement? once you know what you want in the end, you can work backwards to get what you want. I guarantee it’s out there but you have to figure out what you want first before you can find it.

@@GTsPerformance I would like to avoid ... a yellow/gold/orange bias... but apart from that i open... big fan of white pearl. The car I drive is a fiesta ford race red... paint is still great just need to fix a few rock/stone chips.... rather avoid raps

I would like something that would complement the factory colour... as Its still in great condition considering the age.. what I would like to achieve is a ford race red ... but like a pearl white shows pink on specular highlights...I'd like silver just dunno if possible.... just want to avoid gold yellow/orange bias.. as there's a Molton orange version of the st... and I don't really dig it

Man I'm gonna spray my Ls swapped 82 Gmc shortbed Squarebody myself. I've been watchin your videos for few months now. I think I can do it myself. It's gotta look better than the burnt orange with horrible Texas sun paint flakes. They did scuff and shoot on it and it didn't last long at all. I wanna paint it 68Corvette Bronze with some kind of pearl in it. Search 1968 Corvette Bronze Camaro and tell me what pearl would go good over top that paint.

I asked you about silver over red BUT since i did some spray samples myself …. I found that silver powder over red does not look good …. Maybe large silver flakes ….. But red over red Green over green Blue over blue Orange over orange All these typically look good And everything over black looks good …. Anyway… enough of the rambling, you are doing a good job !!!

Would a gun like this be ok to use for a whole car paint job our would a hvlp gun be better. Iv been looking at several eye candy pigments trying to decide what colors I want to use on my car and my s10 when it ready for paint. Mixing the pigments in clear seems to be a much cheaper option then buying candy n pearl paints already mixed
