I recently had a styling session with Allison Bornstein where I was able to distill my 3 Style Words down to "MINIMAL + SPORTY + SHARP". When you learn your 3 style words, it can become easier to get dressed, go shopping and even troubleshoot an outfit that doesn't feel like it's working so it feels more balanced, and like YOU! So today I'm chatty chatting some style thoughts, and styling outfits from my wardrobe keeping my 3 words in mind. I'll be taking you through HOW to troubleshoot outfits that feel like they're leaning either too far away from your vibe, or that feel too much like 1 style word instead of a balance of 3.

The moto jacket with the skirt is everything. Great video. It really shows how making a small tweak or two can impact how you feel in an outfit. I agree with not pairing black and red, or for me black with any bold saturated color. It may match but too harsh of a contrast.

I think pairing the red cardigan with a cream tank top which peeks slightly above the neckline would be a welcome tweak. I find I can't wear red on it's own so close to my face. Just a suggestion.

Love these styling videos. I would have tried sneakers with the all-black outfit. And I agree that we shouldn't not wear colors that aren't our colors, BUT keep them away from your face. That is what you are feeling and why you like having more skin. Try a big silver chunky necklace. You look great in silver. Or put a high-neck black tank under, so you have the black peeking out. Just my 2 cents. LOL. Keep it up! You look great.

This was a really fun concept for me to watch! I truly feel as if I'm naked without a few accessories sometimes, but other times, I do notice how easy it is for me to just throw on whatever is most convenient without any rhyme or reason. This was a really good exercise to watch - love to buy and hate to wear, and working with things that you don't know how to style is something I never take the time for. Watching you I can see things more objectively. Like I don't think it's the colour in your red cardigan that's not working, I think it's too 'round' for you. When you undo it the V created is 'sharper' - I think a V-neck cardigan would work on you, not so 'sweet'. 💖

This was such a helpful video, you are so real and explain things so well. I have to say those lighter wash denim with a belt look really good on you!!! I think if you could try wearing your hair down and fuller with the wide leg bottoms to feel a bit more balanced too? Worth a try. I also love those yellow sunglasses on you - tres chic! So helpful and exactly what I asked for! Thank you! This may be common knowledge, but since it's been working for me so well, I wanted to share. It falls into one category of the big, slim, skin method. I've noticed that wearing a nude pair of shoes that matches my skin tone is visually blending together from a distance and creating more area of "skin" from calf to toe. Since I need more contrast from light to dark in my outfits because of my winter color palette, I find myself reaching for black bottoms often with icy or bright tops to balance. Then my light skin tone becomes the third color of the outfit, if I show enough skin and that includes the nude shoe elongating my legs. For example Christina's outfit with the red cardigan adding black pants or skirt would work well for me with the nude shoe.

I never liked a wide puddle over flats. When you raised the hem a bit in the white outfit I instantly liked it a lot. I think flats look awesome with a bit of ankle showing, otherwise the flats are drowning. The sandals work a lot better when wide pants are puddling.
