@Riptide1976 I think I'm going to buy a wig, and it it looks real enough and good enough, and comfortable enough, I'm going to get a super short haircut, like a pixie with an undercut, kind of punk rock style, I've always wanted to see how i look with that, but then wear the wig on some or most days! I'm excited to have a plan. I'm tired of seeing hair fall every day and dreading being bald. I hope your wig journey goes well too!!

I wear European human hair wigs also. I wear Follea by Daniel Alain. Human hair is expensive, but you get what you pay for. And they are realistic looking.

Hi Taylor! I would not cut it any shorter because I think it is more versatile for you at this length. Maybe try a the larger barrel and see how that size of curl is for you. Overall, I think it looks great!

love this all so much! One think about heated styling is that you don't want to do it much- or real hair grows and we cut the damaged ends off- with a wig, you can cut but your style will get sorter and shorter- so just be so super careful- I am sure you already know all this! Love the curls! Stunning!! Damn, you are just gorg!!! You were already stunning, but the hair adds the chef's kiss!

So many women wear wigs or other types of hair pieces. My hair has thinned a bit with age/perimenopause now in my 40s and I've been wearing halo or clip in extensions. Your wig is super natural and pretty and you are just glowing with confidence now.

Don’t over think it. Play with it and see what works for you and what doesn’t. I was glad to see T pins made it in the supply list. I did wigs way back when. Remember curls will relax thru out the day just like your own do. But no one is perfect the first time. I think you got an amazing wig and that the store hasn’t left you high and dry. Have fun.

You can also clip your curls that u curled with the iron. Then the curls can COOL easier while u are working in the next curl…. Time saver 😊

That is a cute pin cushion. That ladys head reminds be of beauty school. The hair on our wigs was attached to the head and her face gad makeup on it. It is nice if you can clamp it on like your makeup table.. That way you can use the table to put everything that you need and easy to pick up while you have hair in ur hands. You will understand when u start doing it 😊 I LOVE that fabric wig head

Great job styling it. Maybe you should try the bigger barrel for the curling iron or comb it out when it's still warm so the curl is not so tight? You did a great job for styling it for the first time. I'm so impressed with how natural it looks.

Eons ago I used to wear a human hair fall. When I traveled they did make wig carriers, like an over sized hatbox. It also kept the dust off of it to store it in. So check and see, I'm sure you can find one. I remember mine was black patent leather.

You could pin a bit of it back with the old Hollywood style of curls like that if it’s feeling too full. For the looser curl you could try the larger barrel or wrap with the barrel that narrows but then you don’t wrap the end and just pull the iron down the hair. You could also just do that to a few pieces if you want it more like the picture. So many fun options for you!

You can use a three barrel curling iron , for a more natural beach wave. Good luck! Looking really nice

I love the curl but I think a less curl more beachy wave would look amazing. Yes exactly if you leave the bottom pieces you will get a more wave versus curl. I love all these wig videos. I love that you are having fun with you new hair. It all looks great on you no matter what style you pick! 🥰🥰

Your hair stylist seems so nice and caring. I love that you have loving people around helping you through this. I like this style but I prefer it straight as you showed it since you got it. I think it suits you perfectly that way, length and all. Maybe, you could curl only the very end of the length, to see if you like the effect.

I have CCCA (a type of alopecia) and am trying to regrow my crown area! In the meantime, I wear wigs. Theyre such a fun way to experiment with new hairstyles as well!

What a great job you did! It looks awesome. I could never do that great of a job. I believe the curl will definitely loosen to your liking. It is very hard to tuck wig hair behind the ears because of the cap. In my experience it does not stay and I can see you trying to tuck it over and over. I think you may be used to tucking because it was so easy with your bio hair. It would be easier to tuck a booby pin in the hair to help it stay. Also, I am being real here, the less you run your fingers through your hair the longer it will last. Try not to touch it as much as you can.

You could always have a spray bottle of water to dampen the curls and loosen them up. I dont know if spraying a real hair wig with water is ok, but on a real head of hair it works. 😊

I like the way the guy at the wig shop styled it for you. You don't really need to do anything with it except maybe pull the sides back. I would skip curling it altogether or much larger curls

I think it looks adorable! One way that you could make it look a little more young is too maybe French braid the front in the bangs area over to the side or you could just kind of twist it with 2 pieces twisted around and then do a clip to the side. The waves will fall so don't worry. Also, if you want to decrease the volume a little bit, you could just put some water on your fingers, rub it around your fingers like lotion and then just kind of pull your fingers through your hair and it will let some of that volume out.

I agree with you that it does make you look more mature with the waves. If you are going to stay with this length, the straighter hair looks prettier on you. But, I would love to see you with a longer wig!! Also, you can pin each curl after using the iron, and you don’t have to spend so much time holding the curl in your hand. I have a question…now that you have this wig and correct fit/color and everything are you able to add extensions to something like this? That might be fun if it’s an option, and you don’t have to worry about the damage to your own hair. 🍃🌸🍃

I really would allow the wig to act like a protective style. Bleaching and dying hair makes it thinner and the ends are clearly damaged. Taylor, please consider giving a long, long pause to dying your hair. For shorter hair, a curling wand is ideal, and put the wig on while styling so you can see how the curls are framing your face. Get comfortable with learning how to handle and style hair - it’s yours, you bought it, so love her (the wig). Do it in a mirror until you’re very familiar with each movement of the hair around the wand, and how this forms certain curls or waves. For some curls hold longer against the barrel if you want more stiff peaks, shorter for a softer wave. In short, experiment and play a lot. Oily hair will hold a curl worse than hair where the shaft isn’t covered. There’s a lot of weight at the bottom and middle of the hair - try not to curl alllll the way to the ends, and vary the weights of the curls. You’ve got this!

Taylor, Can I ask you a question? I’ve been going through the exact things you have, but when I started trying to wear wigs I found them really hot and itchy, and painful where the clips were. I’ve been so down because they’re so uncomfortable that I’m still painfully conscious of my hair every minute, which makes it hard to enjoy everyday life. I haven’t tried getting a custom wig yet though …… Can you tell me, do you have any of the same issues? Is it hot and uncomfortable on your head? How does it stay on so well without clips? Maybe in one of your upcoming vlogs you could show us what the cap looks like inside, and what it’s made out of. It looks like it’s stretchy. I’m just dying to finally find something that I can wear and be perfectly comfortable in it, and not have to worry that it’s riding up, etc. Thank you so much!

I am very familiar with the Redken shades EQ line. The color, Tahitian sand also contains a bonder which is basically a toner. Toner, although seems like should strengthen the hair and coat it, for hair like yours it is going to damage it and break it off because the chemicals it contains. As long as you are putting chemicals on your hair, it will continue to break off and thin more and more

For a more wavy look you can use a hair straightener and curve it in different diraections. I liked the curls. You can use that style for events and special occasions. ☺️

You did such a great job on the curls and you look beautiful as usual! I think it's going to take time to get used to it especially since you are so used to wearing your hair slick back in a bun most of the time. Another curling iron that I use one by Hot Tools. I use the gold barrel 1 1/2 inch clamp style. It's a larger barrel and the curls fall out very naturally and give the look you have in the "Elsa" picture. I have the T3 as well and that curling iron is great but when I use it, I know the curls aren't going to fall out much so I won't use that one when I'm going for a more "relaxed" look.
