May I suggest, adding 3/x to both sides. And solve it as a proportion. The solution is as fast as reading what I just said.

Cross multiply 4y by x and 3 by (x-1) and create the common denominator by multiplying both lower parts of these both fractions. The numerator looks like: 4xy-3(x-1) and the denominator looks like: x(x-1). Final output: (4xy-3x+1) / (xx-x).

Hello, In regards to solving the problem using the "bow-tie method", don't the two expressions have to be on opposite sides of an = sign before you can execute/utilize using the b.t.m.?
