My local bookstore owner decided to be more "hip" and buy books for a wider demographic. The last time I was in there, he was selling the whole ACOTR series to a 9 year old girl and her dad for her first "big girl" series. I burst out laughing when they left. When the book store guy questioned why, I opened up to one of the more disturbing "sensual" (I love raunch and smut, but have no idea WTF SJM was trying to do) scenes and showed him. IDK what the term is for the "Oh Good God What Have I Done" face and "Surprised Pikachu" face is but boi he was frozen for a good solid minute.

A Kazuo Ishiguro fan here: Klara and The Sun is definitely one of his weaker novels, but I'm so glad you decided to read Never Let Me Go nevertheless! It shares a few similarities with KATS in terms of the themes explored, but it's soooo much more engaging and emotional!
