I wish G1 didn’t end the way it did, I feel that they still had a lot to give, like the Monster High and Ever After High crossover movie. G2 happened out of nowhere and made most of the MH fans disappointed because of many aspects. One is that they went from “be yourself, be unique, be a monster” (Frankie's quote) to “let’s study about humans and act more like them”

I loved the OG Barbie mermaid 1991 ( blue) but hated the tinsel and hair that was used on her, was a mess after combing it always looked like it had thread on the hair and it would stand up awful, so I'm with Toya on the Tinsel also, years later as a rerooter I got the OG Mermaid and rerrooted her and no tinsel LOL

I read that the reason for Lagoona being pink and Frankie losing her neckbolts were dude to copyright infringement with Universal. But with the new restrictions they did a great job revamping those characters. I think all of the g3 dolls are adorable. I can't wait for more characters to come out like Clawd and Abby.

I think my only complaint with some of these dolls is that they went ALL IN with their general 'theme'. Like I understand Deuce is a gorgon, but does he have to have a snake on literally every single article of clothing/accessory? Same for a few of the others as well - it's just so much. I get his theme, it is obvious, you don't have to go so overboard with it. But otherwise they look great and I'm sure they will be very very loved!

Yeah, this was a pretty big pet peeve for me, that's why I love the originals so much. They didn't theme their entire outfit on what type of monster they are, unlike the new ones but they still are pretty amazing and I really do love the new ones, just not as much as the originals.

Because Barbie is supposed to be the "safe" option for parents now, and Mattel runs with that. She's not edgy, she's not scantily dressed (usually), she's not wild. Mattel knows that as long as they keep her relatively modest, the parents who are against OMG, Bratz, and Rainbow High because of their more mature fashions will buy Barbie and her potato sack dresses and and her plain playsets.

I wasn't sure what to make of the redesigns as usually I dislike when any franchise redoes designs or somehow "softens" features more. But honestly, these look great. The older dolls had interesting faces, but these have interesting features *and* different, diverse bodies, more varied backgrounds, and they seemed to put just as much effort into making the accessories and clothes as detailed. I get the old designs came out at maybe a pivotal time in people's lives and helped people find a balance to their styles or maybe got them into dolls, but as someone who doesn't have the nostalgia, I really, really like these updates.

I know a lot of people have.. opinions about it.. but I'm in love with G3, especially the diversity in the face and body sculpts. I'm genuinely shocked to see dolls that look like me (Frankie's face looks similar and Draculaura's short and curvier) in this series, especially since Monster High has been a favorite of doll line of mine for a long time. Also, Deuce is wonderful, and I'm so glad the guys are getting some love. I'm gonna have to see if I can't get the Gore-ganizer for my birthday. That Draculaura is gorgeous and I'm in the market for another makeup organizer.

Same here i love the originals truly and the reboot did a good job at keeping most of the original details from the first generation. Also this is just personal opinion but i love that Frankie is now NB because i am also NB making this doll very special to me i love it when they are not afraid to add such characteristics to their dolls/products in general

I'm actually really surprised how good these dolls are given how... cheap g2 was. And while g3 is not as fierce in its dolls or its 2d artwork, I still really like it. They feel more like real teens to me. I also really appreciate that even with the arched feet for the females, most of them aren't wearing heels. It always struck me odd in g1 when some characters were meant to be more sporty or tomboyish, yet still wear heels. I also also like the reimagining of ghoulia being more of a skater/stoner girl. I did not like her before because she barely had a personality other than cleo's lacky. I hope they bring back invisibilly to be her skater friend. I never did get his doll and it tears me up inside, but I did at least get heath

Personally Draculara’s redesign is the only one that really works for me (Cleo’s is growing on me though). I feel like Draculaura’s is the only one that keeps her original vibe, it seems like they’re trying to make most of them into more “hipster” teens imo

Lagunas pink (which I don’t mind anymore) clawdeen. No longer has a mum or multiple bros. Which means draculaura doesn’t get Claude as a bf anymore. Cleo is seen as much more mean girl than she used to be. But I still love them, getting everyone. It’s just a big change is what I think she means. N I get that, but I don’t really have an issue with it.

Lagoona is by far my favourite. Yes she's Pink but to me she looks like an axolotl 🥺🥺 i love her. I've also seen she might struggle with anger issues in this gen and it feels so real because i'm also bubbly and friendly but i struggle with anger issues!! And i have for my entire life, seeing a teen character dealing with it seems so 🥺🥺😭 like i'm healing i love her

Oh my! Cleo's drink thermos looks to me like a "canopic jar". Sorry, I'm a little grossed out that they are using it for her to drink out of. OMG, I LOVE Frankie's details. Love the body. I wish the clothes and accessories were without pink like the OG doll, because there's already way too much pink in most doll lines, but aside from that, Frankie is PERFECT! For Clawdeen the only thing I dislike in that doll is the hair color. I wish they were darker. Other than that I love her. I'm also okay with crescent being changed into a canine, because it makes more sense in combination with her character. Deuce probably has the best MH male doll outfit so far in the entire series. His jacket is just perfect. wow. I love Draculaura's backpack and the cape, but I'm not a fan of the new face... But she's still such an improvement over any G2 doll, so it's cool. Ghoulia is awesome with the best jacket and shirt in Monster High history ever. I wish the skirt weren't so blatantly pink, same goes for the make-up. Im not a fan of the new Lagoona i'm afraid. The dark pink makes her look like she got sunburned badly and also doesn't make sense for a sea creature monster. I by far prefer her previous skin color. I love that they all come with their own individual snacks. Very cool! And i'm a huge fan of all the sculpted body details (scales, wolf hair, mummy wrap etc.), as well the printing on the clothes is not reduced to front only (THANK YOU MATTEL, for once). AND all the shoes are amazing! Wow, great details, love love love those! my favorite thing about the coffin bean is probably the raven. Great pet addition! I probably have a unpopular opinion here but I love the lagoona doll I’ve seen some doll customizers create beautiful siren dolls with bright pastels before and I always wished there was a official one! The pink and blue/teal color looks good 👍 over all I really like most of the designs and am excited that monster high is back! ( although I really wish there was no tinsel in Cleo’s hair it makes it so hard to brush and style 😩)

I think the Egyptian coffee travel mug was my fave and then the shops couch with the eyeball pillows. The couch reminds me of Chairy from Peewee's Playhouse. So cute. At some point I hope Monster High and General Mills (I think it's GM) will collab and make chocolate, strawberry, and blueberry boys and girl. Imagine a pink Franky! im kinda mad about lagoona in G3. im not saying i dont love the new designs and artwork for G3, but i wish Lagoona wouldve looked more like she used to. regardless, the dolls are GORGEOUS. also im hoping that they include some headcannons or fan theories about monster high into the movie, which i know is out, i just havent been able to watch it yet. I started watching your videos when I was only 11 years old and I made absolutely everything I could! I watched every single video and would drool over all of the monster high dolls that you guys had. I even submitted photos in your contests because I wanted to win the doll giveaways soooooo bad. I told myself that "one day when I'm older, I'll be able to buy them myself!" Now I am almost 21 years old, and just bought myself the Curvy Draculara because of this video and am going to start collecting just like you! My chubby little childhood self cried when I saw they have different body types and I am loving the new look of these dolls. My inner child is screaming. Not gonna lie, I could do without Lagoona’s pink skin tone. We already had a pink skinned Ghoul in the form of Draculaura. If she was given a pale blue green or pale aquamarine teal skin tone, that’d make a lot more sense. And last time I checked, swamp monsters and sea monsters have body colors that aren’t so “human”. But her arm fins are small enough for her to wear long sleeved shirts. And her feet being slightly translucent is pretty cool. However, a missed opportunity to have her legs colored like a mermaid’s tail and painted scales on them. Speaking of which, her arms and ear fins aren’t colored like in her artwork. Why are only her legs colored, but not her arms and ear fins? She could’ve been the hybrid sea monster/mermaid ghoul. ^^ Another thing that Hextian explained in his Draculaura repaint video is the overall colors. They’re too bright and not like the OG Monster High. Actually, they look like they’ve been transferred to the Ever After High world for school. And Duece and Cleo not being a couple in G3? Why? But at least the dolls have one extra articulation on their bodies and the clothes and accessories are more detailed.

I think maybe it might be because since this line is kinda geared towards little kids and not the og fans (necessarily), I think they wanted a "nicer" couple since cleo and deuce were known to break up pretty often (or were based around that by fans), and cleo used to be kind of a jerk to him, so that might be why

Visually, the dolls look just about how I expected a reboot to look like (brighter colors, more body types, etc.) I just don’t like the branding they’re going with now since they got rid of the whole “daughter/son of _____” and they messed with a lot of the lore from the og series

The reason for most of the "iconic" lore and details, such as lagoona's blue skin and Frankie's neck bolts are due to copyright issues. They had to change some things and given the things they had to work around, I think they did a pretty good job, *ahem* unlike G2 *cough*

Personally, MH G1 will always have a special place in my heart, not a big fan that they redesigned everything in order to “soften” their looks, but I will say G3 is slowly growing on me, especially lagoona, bc shes very colorful and I love bright colors 🥰
