Sorry about the dual audio tracks on this one, folks! That one's my bad - will avoid that on future lore tours. - The Editor

I'm convinced that Blizz has a Folklore and Mythology expert working in their writers/designers. You're right, none of this is by accident and creating this whole cosmology and making it the folklore of the game is amazing work. It's beyond mere world building, it's got a lot more to it. I love your videos, I have to watch all of them and even go back and rewatch.

In the alliance side it doesn't seem they perceive the Zandalari as savages ,but as another kingdom or faction to capture or conquer . Greymane speaks politely in the alliance side and asks for surrender. In the horde side it sounds like they see them as savages since Greymane says that they should bow to their new masters. I think this might be a nice nod to the fact that both factions use different languages and therefore maybe the common language might be very context reliant or maybe there is a mistranslation on the horde side. Also this is no alliance favoritism . Keep in mind that the raid is not us reading a history book but being part of a historic event , it makes no sense for the allince players to miss-interpret to that degree what Greymane said , especially since he uses polite/diplomatical speech .

I think the Zandalari have a bit of xenophobic superiority. Throughout history they've been the pinnacle of civilization, but now in their little island there hasn't been a threat big enough to humble them as a whole. If you haven't seen the FX series 'Shogun', in it the japanese call the european explorers "savages" even though they are technologically superior and buy guns from them. You can see the parallel. I don't think languages in WoW can be misinterpreted, unless explicitly stated. One occurrence of it calls into question every other comparable horde-alliance interaction. Otoye twisted the words out of hate. The horde pc wasn't there but the alliance pc was.

Let's not forget the back story to Grong also: Alliance mettle with native simian species, amplify [grong's] attributes, which in turn causes him to beginning growing uncontrollably. Along with this, as he grew he begins to be more violent and hostile and if i'm not mistaken it is determine that the growth rate and degradation of the 'fellow,' will lead to an untimely death.

@@vorben7826 The Horde and Alliance aren't morally better than one another. They're both factions that do shitty things all the time, and it is possible to be critical and disagree with people you associate with.

we're talking about Grong here, and just Grong buddy. If Metzen didn't make WoW then none of this would've happened if you want to be a penis about it.

Gnomes have to test out creating gnome hulks somehow. Come on you know that’s why that device was invented in the first place they were hoping to juice themselves up and now are most sad that it’s back to the drawing board. This isn’t me trying to be edgy I legitimately think that’s the logical progression for gnomish ingenuity to you know. But it’s okay because when you dehumanize your enemy all things are just. And yeah I know both sides do it to a more or less literal degree as we all know both sides are immoral in regard to this creature

In the room with the Loa shrines when you pointed out that there are 2 shrines defaced or removed, I noticed that the relief on these 2 blank shrines shows a default "proto"-Troll engraving. Which would indicate, that behind the other loa statues in that room there would also be these default troll engravings. If that is the case I think could symbolize that behind (in the literal and metaphorical sense) each of these Loa was originally a Troll that ascended to Loa status (or was uplifted to Loa status by someone). Just a hypothesis though.

Fantastic raid. Definitely one of my favourite of all time. On a separate note, is it just me hearing 2 music tracks? One for the gameplay and one an editor put on top? Super jarring to listen to.

The cacophony of the 2 sound tracks makes this painful to watch xD 27:00 I do believe you are correct, I would not say they are necessarily planets, though, they can be like nebulas or galaxies with multiple celestial bodies. If you look at Shadowlands, I think you could almost see it as an asteroid field made of massive asteroids. That's what the zones there make me think of, rather flatish, you can see the "under" side if you go to the limits.

@@Pyromancer been thinking about this. Korthia and the Maw were clearly part of the same land mass at one point. I always thought they were broken apart when Zovaal was defeated and jailed by the other Eternal Ones, but maybe it was when all the other zones were broken off as well. Interesting idea!

I know this came up a lot in the stream vod. I like playing horde because I’ve always felt a bit monstrous irl long story. I try to do good now feel like I consistently fail now. I got emotionally attached to the story of redemption of Thralls horde played an orc for a long time (play a more cutesy female Tauren now I want to leave the rage totally behind now and be a pleasant healer who is a bit of a naturalist) seeing the burning of teldrassil kind of broke me accepting my status as a full on villain. Then I saw old soldier and thought “they know”. I can be a jerk sometimes and I’m sorry for that but my idea of strength now is to have a brutish nature and choose to be gentle. Regardless this emotional connection I lack in the alliance is what best kept my heart in Warcraft above others
