I love my Northern Diver Commercial drysuit. Neoprene suit with neoprene neck seal and a ring system with latex wrists. I use it for almost every dive year round from seattle to panama city beach

Great video on the different types and options

The rubber hazard dive suits usually have a molded locking collar for a type of dive hat, be it a KM hat dam, Gorski, or DESCO. I am sure there are other dam styles, but I hope to not need to use one. You also need to have a matching hat to use these collared suits, or you will just have a really loose wet suit.

Seaskin is super affordable and you get a tailored custom made drysuit for £550. With extras like pockets, p-valve, ring system and thermal undersuit it's around €720. I know so many divers being really happy with their seaskin drysuit.

Anxiously awaiting my DUI CLX 450. I’d love a comparison of dry glove systems. I hear KUBI is great but I’m not familiar with how they all work

Would love to hear how you carry weights in your drysuit. Can't stand weight belt and am thinking of a weight harness
@sarahlouise44703 жыл бұрын
I have mine integrated in the bcd if you have a wing/backplate you can use a steel plate, weighted bar behind the tank and on the harness. Jackets tend to have pockets and tank bands

BCD pockets as much as you can, if you need more, tank strap. Also use a steel cylinder and steel backplate if you can.

ok, so merino wool for glove liners. But what type of gloves do you put on top when it is close to 0C? Wool or fleece? ( Hestra Wool Pile/Terry Liner vs HELI SKI CZONE LINER ) #askMark #coldHands

I did a Drysuit course the other week in a brand new Santi E.Motion custom made to my size. After both pool sessions and open water dives, I was soaking wet. The dive shop serviced the drysuit inflator valve (as I seemed to be mostly wet below that) between the pool sessions and open water dive. Then they put it on me, inflated it and hosed me down to find leaks and couldn’t find any. What’s a likely cause of the ingress? Cause I was freezing when diving in tropical water, I would not like that to happen in actual cold water (have a trip booked to Antarctic). Honestly the experience didn’t sell me on drysuit diving at all.

Could be neck movement. If they couldn't find a leak on any seams or valves, then it tends to be moving your head too much. I teach drysuit students to look with their shoulders and avoid moving your head as much as possible. If you turn your head or look straight up, then the skin around your neck shifts under the seal and can let water in. Hard to diagnose without being there, but, that's where I'd start my questions

Do you have any experience with Santi dry suits? What are your thoughts? I’ve only ever used DUI suits.
@Musiknird3 жыл бұрын
Tbh, the are overrated in my opinion. I have so mant friends that has Santi and many of them have so much problems with them. For that price and you barely have any guarantees. I have a Bare Trilam Commercial HD Pro Dry that is amazing and you have lifetime guarantee on the suit and the zipper. It goes for their tech drysuit as well. You also have seaskin were you get a tailored custom suit for £550 and with extras like pockets, p-valve, ring system and thermal undersuit about €720. Shark also makes really affordable drysuits and many are very satisfied with them.

Sold out in Asia and slowly but surely returns started to happen. My understanding is that the seals go bad fast.
