My school do something similar- there's a space called "time out" and people get sent for the stupidest reasons- like a teacher sent a girl in my lesson because they THOUGHT she was talking (she wasn't) and they also talk badly about students or mutter things about them if they walk out of a lesson. That is so disgusting of them, and the fact they made you do it when you said multiple timses you DIDN'T WANT TO? Downright disgusting. I love the one you're in, so I'm so glad I found your channel! ❤️

That’s SO wrong! To a child as well! I’m in college now and if a video of me back in year 8 was released I’d actually want to die, so you’ve done really well at handling it. The entertainment industry is actually crazy and I dont understand how half of what they do is legal. Okay, couple things as a film student that might hopefully clarify things for everyone in the comments. Main one being the no payment thing, that’s pretty standard for documentaries, essentially the worry is that payment may affect how people act and the willingness of there participation in the piece(not that it matters in this case.) Secondly, most of the problems with this sound like ethical violations rather than legal ones, although if they didn’t have parental/guardians consent I don’t believe that contract is valid and that would obviously be a legal issue. Thirdly, given the time of when this was filmed and the available technology my assumption would be the cameras were actually always on. It’s fairly common, because you never know when something will happen, to leave them rolling. Obviously you were the one there but unless you know for sure, they very well may have even more footage sitting on a hard drive somewhere. Sorry this was your experience, the production sounds like it made many unethical discussions. Also if you would like me to delete this please let me know, this is your space and I respect that.

I haven't watched yet but came here because of a new article. Drew and Ross Povey and now officially banned from teaching indefinitely. The show talked about the off-rolling, essentially saying certain underperforming students didn't go to the school to average inflate GCSE results (or something along those lines), but the article talked about more. Behaviour was apparently terrible full stop with Drew Povey refusing to give exclusions to stop it, instead having kids be sent home early, which also wasn't recorded properly. Mr Ince told the disciplinary panel that the place was like a zoo. And although the show framed the place like an underperforming school on its way up, in reality Ofsted rated it Inadequate in 2018.
