@@andrealandburg2689the proceedings in GA have been stayed because of an appeal of the judge’s decision on Willis to the circuit court by Trump & Co. They want Willis off the case. There is no duty to stop a case just because someone has appealed to the Circuit Court; it’s a judgement call. The appeal to the Supreme Court is from the DC case for January 6th. It wouldn’t apply to a state case necessarily, which is why NYC case is still going. They would have to make that argument/appeal separately, which I am quite sure they will do because stalling is their strategy. Just like Trump running for president is stay out of jail and delaying debts collected strategy. It’s not a good strategy, but I think they intend to once again overthrow the will of the people. Or they think they will win Electoral College. Trump will not win the popular vote because he never has.

There is a large number of people of color with strong ties to the Civil Rights movement. We have lost most of that generation but the ties and the emotions are still there. What would you propose instead? That's a real question, one I've wondered about for years. To me, it's on par with the question of the electoral college. After all, if the EC didn't exist and presidents were elected strictly by popular vote, Trump would never have held office. As to House and Senate, we don't really have true representation there, either. As to lower offices, like judges and prosecutors, if the electorate got a little more involved and realized the importance of putting in fair minded, competent, non-partisan judges and prosecutors, could we count on voters to do the right thing like the majority of them did in the 2016 presidential election? And, if not, then, again, what's the answer?

I reject the theory - people are always trying to use somewhat unrelated things to predict others. Here are two other points that help explain the results: 1. Name Recognition. A high-profile case gives us them plenty of it. 2. The people can approve of the way the judge is doing his job and still find the case is going against the defendant, even if the judge has been somewhat adversarial to the prosecutor.
