SCOTUS knows exactly what they're doing? By slow-walking the ruling...they are obstructing/obscuring the optics for voters (criminal conviction for a particular candidate)... @@andrealandburg2689the proceedings in GA have been stayed because of an appeal of the judge’s decision on Willis to the circuit court by Trump & Co. They want Willis off the case. There is no duty to stop a case just because someone has appealed to the Circuit Court; it’s a judgement call. The appeal to the Supreme Court is from the DC case for January 6th. It wouldn’t apply to a state case necessarily, which is why NYC case is still going. They would have to make that argument/appeal separately, which I am quite sure they will do because stalling is their strategy. Just like Trump running for president is stay out of jail and delaying debts collected strategy. It’s not a good strategy, but I think they intend to once again overthrow the will of the people. Or they think they will win Electoral College. Trump will not win the popular vote because he never has.

There is a large number of people of color with strong ties to the Civil Rights movement. We have lost most of that generation but the ties and the emotions are still there. My school was about a mile the other way. Obviously walking distance, too. I don't remember any worries. Weird times, right? The black neighborhoods were a couple blocks away, looked pretty much the same. All in all, kinda boring time to be a child. Listening to soap operas and Walter Winchell and the Lone Ranger on the radio. Reading around in the encyclopedia and Hopalong Cassidy and Buck Rodgers. Things have gotten more exciting since. I think both to date have shown lots of talent and the very sort of focused intensity on their offices that I would want in my state or county, regardless of party. I hope Attorney Wade makes a return somewhere- he too, has excelled and what happened was as stupid as it was avoidable, and I hope there is a job somewhere he can do that excelling at for the people.

You do your homework on the person on the ballot. Your vote matters. Therefore, make an informed decision to know the individual you are voting for. Does that person have any morals as he makes decisions. Is he/she worthy of my vote? When you get all the information on this person, you are engaged to make your vote count. ❤

@brendakent2939 how do you do homework on a judge, I have never voted for one and the state that I live in SC doesn't have them anyway. What kind of things matter do I look for time of conviction?

I live in Fulton County, GA, and I voted yesterday. Understand that Fulton County is a blue oasis in a Red desert. Another important race was for State Supreme Court Justice. I hope Beau does a video about that race and it's implications.

What would you propose instead? That's a real question, one I've wondered about for years. To me, it's on par with the question of the electoral college. After all, if the EC didn't exist and presidents were elected strictly by popular vote, Trump would never have held office. As to House and Senate, we don't really have true representation there, either. As to lower offices, like judges and prosecutors, if the electorate got a little more involved and realized the importance of putting in fair minded, competent, non-partisan judges and prosecutors, could we count on voters to do the right thing like the majority of them did in the 2016 presidential election? And, if not, then, again, what's the answer?

Time was when Judges were non-partisan and were on the part of the ballot with other initiatives, listed without party affiliation…today party and religious affiliation are one the ballot whether they appear there or not…Support for Judges that do their job without allowing these affiliations to cloud their judgement are the best for the entire country…Vote Wisely

My takeaway from the primaries is that there is no widespread, deep opposition. I do not believe that there is much more that can be inferred.

Fulton county voter here: even more telling, in my view, is that Democrats voted for a Republican-appointed judge because they do not want to see this case delayed or potentially derailed

I reject the theory - people are always trying to use somewhat unrelated things to predict others. Here are two other points that help explain the results: 1. Name Recognition. A high-profile case gives us them plenty of it. 2. The people can approve of the way the judge is doing his job and still find the case is going against the defendant, even if the judge has been somewhat adversarial to the prosecutor.
