Some people counter this by saying: "I mean, yeah she isn't good now, but she's okay/kinda. Not every unit should be OP" Sure. Not every unit is suposed to be Crown or Cinderella, but here is the thing: if i am forced to spend 1500 blue cases and 150 fav item specific items - i expext a character to be AT LEAST great! You cannot requiere so much and do so little. You canno't make Fav Items "meh". They were not created to make bad units a little bit "less bad". They were created to REVIVE bad units!

Café Sweety are one of my favourite squads too, they're all dripped out and their fits absolutely go hard + the 3 also have unexpected goofy quirks about em that make them endearing. I'm in shambles, hopefully Sugar doesn't get done dirty aswell.

Aye, a fellow Café Sweety fan! I absolutely agree with everything you've said. Their goofy quirks are the best and they are so wholesome, endearing, and very are fun to see together. Milk has to be one of my most disappointing upgrade to a character ever. It's like they looked at her, and just wanted to shut us up with her not being a good Burst 1... I pray for Sugar's future Fav Item to be good, because if they do her dirty, I'll never forgive Shift Up like I didn't when Base Rosanna released.

On my third day of playing I pulled Milk and she was my 3rd SSR (After Brid and Scarlet. LOL Sorry had to put that in there Z.) and she carried me up to and past the 160 wall. After that she slowly found less and less use. This was huge downer as she was and still is one of my top 5 wifu's (Don't get me started on the VA, I know things happen irl and I am living with that). I think that if enough people complain to Shift Up about this they MIGHT fix it and make her compete with the others. It's worked in the past. Should start a #spoiledmilk campaign. milk's CDR is similar to dorothy. it's not incredible but acceptable. She's also the only b1 with CDR that has a reliable heal. I think she's being severely underestimated because her CDR isn't top tier but you can run 4 other characters that are pure DPS without worrying about healing

She's just become an OK CDR healer, which isn't really something we had, but that's so damn underwhelming compared to what the rest of the chars had. And they made the tomboy a girly girl in her Favorite Item art, which is to me a lot more damaging than the item's specs. Absolutely no reason to invert the EXTREMELY LIMITED ressources we have for dolls in Milk. And that sucks. After 2 Years of playing this game, I still don't have 25 chars at 10/10/10 with full, decent rolls OL and SR doll at least lvl5. And there's a new character coming EVERY TWO WEEK. Are we supposed to actually play this game and team build, or are we supposed to farm endlessly to have a chance of maybe one day using one of the new chars?

seems to defeat the purpose of having a favorite item in the first place, its there to make the characters better, but when it does the bare minimum, yea it does make the character technically better but theres characters that already get more use than use without a fav item, the favorite item for her pretty much becomes a waste of time cause they only reason you would do so is to fill a spot youre in need of but why waste resources on that when you could spend it elsewhere on characters already aiding you and make them better or other fav item characters that actually gain significant benefit from their item. they might as well put time elsewhere instead of making an item for a character already seeing little to no use even more avoidable, since now to make her a little more useful youre trading stuff you could use to make your better units stronger with. am I missing something?

I feel awful for my favorite waifu. If she's gonna be strong, she needs an alternate version, like a maid version, or revamp her item. EDIT: Maxwell is the only one in Matis who haven't got an item. Maybe in the third batch, she might get one. Also, if they're gonna make another way to buff characters, I think it would be good like "If two or more characters have the same weapon on the team, they gain bonus stats [damage, hp, defense, crit.]".

I'm sure I'm out of pocket for what I think (to most people), especially since I've only been on this game for around 5-6 months, but I would say this with any gacha. What if she's just meant to not be that powerful of a character... period? I'm a believer that not every character in any gacha game should HAVE to be tweaked just because they're low tier. If they suck, they suck. Maybe it's part of the story, just like I heard that Red Hood was buffed because enough people were like "if she's so strong in the main story, why she weak as a character?". I could be all wrong on what I remember Red Hood went through, and I could be in the minority in my opinion (which is fine if you think that). I do believe that if she was meant to be weak, then maybe she shouldn't have gotten a fav item in the first place as that's a waste of resources, but I do believe she just might meant to stay low tier and weak and nearly useless. Something to help with the first set of chapters until you get something better. Could just be wishful thinking and opinions.

That's not how gacha works. It's not like Milk is a free unit given at the beginning of the game. In lore, she's suppose to be in the Top 10 of the Ark's Nikkes. In a gacha, where the units you get are randomized, all units SHOULD be usable. Not top tier. Usable. There is only a SINGLE reason as to why a developper would design a character to be trash. Money. Because if you have "dead" characters, someone that will begin with Milk let's say as his first B1, will be tempted to spend money to roll something better. (re-rolling is only done by mid to hardcore players). Or was your fav Milk (cause she's one of the few tomboys in the game) and you spent all your doll ressources on her? Good, now you have a useless unit compared to the rest of the players. But don't worry, the shop has everything you need (tbh, I don't even know if you can buy doll mats in the shop). But my point stands. Those are designed pit traps for players to waste their ressources, thus encouraging them to stay, thus encouraging them to spend. It's designed that way. For greed. That's it.

@@foujiz I get your stance, and it makes sense from that POV. Thanks for sharing your view though, I learned a bit from it. I consider myself a sort of weird player because I do spend on these games (though I'm a bit resistant to FOMO and spend when I know I actually want it), I don't try to min-max everything as much as a hardcore player would, and I care about the story way more than if a character is "good" or not. Just like my previous post may have proven, I'm not bothered at all by situations like this. Maybe I'm giving devs like Shift Up too much benefit of the doubt and credit. Maybe I'm seen as the target audience, or I'm just way off. I just enjoy the story while throwing money at it sometimes.

If a character sucks, is meant to suck for whatever reason and it's a small part of an otherwise useful to OP roster, why make a fav item for her to waste time/resources on? I like to believe that some decision makers in Shift Up had a reason besides "more money", but I'm sure most would say I'm giving a gacha dev team too much benefit of the doubt. Giving Milk a fav item that doesn't do much isn't the best look, even if I'm personally not bothered by it.

@@RickAltair oh yea sorry I missed it, but yea its a shame, cause if they really thought it through they coulda just release an outfit along with the items release, doesnt have to make her outstanding but but decent enough to warrant thought of use. never really understood the the point of making a purposefully meh character when the character couldve been used at a later date. sharing similar skills to another character but on a different burst would even warrant more use ( not in her case, but rather the concept in general ). if they havent already I wouldve probably tossed the idea of working on an alter instead, wouldve been a better use of resources imo.

So to add another Comment here... I feel like you're being too Harsh on Milk's Fav. Item, when there are others who I think are not as Good as Milk... For Example for Frima, she is mostly a True Damage Buffer, meaning that she has less Team Synergies with most of the Characters in Nikke. Viper (one of my Fav. Nikkes), becomes a Re-Entry B2 Character, making her Team Synergies a bit more Difficult since now you would need 2 B2 Characters in your Team in order to have a Full Burst Rotation. Drake becomes another Shotgun Buffer, meaning her Team Synergy is for Shotguns, which also means less Team Synergy with other Characters

I honestly don't see much Issues with Milk's Fav. Item. Sure, her CDR may not be similar to D: Killer Wife or Rouge, she still is better in other Areas thanks to her Fav. Item For Example, now that she is a 20s Cooldown Character, she can properly be in implemented in many Team Compositions. She is also quite a Good B1 Healer, meaning that she could be a Decent Supporter with or without any extra Support Units in your Team. While her CDR is not the same as D: Killer Wife or Rouge, it's still a Good Addition to her Kit, giving extra Ideas for Team Synergies, especially when giving her OL Gear that would remedy its Requirements...

I don't think that's nearly enough to call Milk bad though. Sure, her item is boring and underwhelming, but she's still a burst 1 unit with both cdr and healing. She's not gamebreaking but she's far from being as bad as a lot of people say she is

@ItsZnaarf Right now, I leveled up 7 dolls, 5 of them for Fav. Items & 2 for my other Nikkes... Also, it's always been expensive to upgrade Dolls, especially those with Fav. Items. So No, Milk's Fav. Item isn't the most Expensive when every Fav. Item have been in the same Value Milk's being the most Mid? Dude, Frima becomes only a True Damage Buffer, Viper becomes a B2 Re-Entry Character, Drake becomes another Shotgun Buffer. Their Fav. Items are more Mid the Milk's due to the Fact that the Creativity Team of Compositions become more limited meanwhile Milk becomes easier & having more ideas in making more Team Synergies. Sure, Volume may be a better CDR, but the Rest of her also revolves around Crit Rate & Damage, which Buffs that aren't that very Important. Also your Comparison with Volume with Milk is odd, cuz the same can be said when you then compare Volume with D: Killer Wife or Rouge without OL Gear. The Other Issue here, is that when D: Killer Wife, Rouge & Milk do have OL Gear & Milk having her Fav. Item, Volume loses some Value as a CDR Character.
