I gave my elderly dad a sock club subscription and he LOVES it. After a couple months (and some nudging from me) they realized that the money from the socks was going to charity, so now when he wears the socks to church, he brings the brochure with him so that when someone else compliments his socks, he tells them about the charity.

It's funny because the soap and socks kind of are. People who have good hygiene (ie soap) and are dressed for the weather (ie socks) are going to be healthier than people who lack those comforts. I've never been so happy that a store was nearly completely sold out during the black friday sales. I will be back to the store whether there are sales or not, but I went to buy soap, and nearly everything was gone! I don't usually like green or black tea, but good store teas are super tasty! I got hooked after buying the tasters. Not bitter at all, so many nice, subtle flavors!

Pro tip! If your tea tastes bitter and it isn't very low quality (like Lipton breakfast tea) then you need to reduce the temperature of your water, the amount of time you leave it brewing, the amount of tea leaves you use , or some of each of those. A good rule of thumb is to brew for 2 minutes and use different temperatures based on the type of tea, 200 for black tea, 195 for dark oolongs, 185 for green oolongs, and 175 for green teas. If you don't have a way to set your water temperature then you can either wait for it to cool down a bit or just brew it for less time The best tea flavors are extracted before all of the bitter tannins, so just be gentle with it and you'll enjoy it more!

Once my sock drawer was full I changed the size on the subscription so my husband could wear beautiful socks too. He is very heavy footed and wears through socks remarkably quickly so it might be a while until my sock needs outweigh his and I get my subscription back. None of my socks show any signs of wear as I walk like a woodland pixie. I ordered the coffee and mug bundle for my in-laws and it smelled amazing (I don't drink coffee but I like to sniff it). Learning how to scrutinize and vet charities is hard. There's a lot of business and financial terms you need to be familiar with to understand how to tell a good charity from a bad one. There are many different kinds, and many different laws, which can vary state to state. A couple things you can look at is, what kind of leadership they have, also transparency about how much money they make and where the money goes, much like what is discussed in this video. All charities are nonprofit organizations, but not all nonprofits are charities.
