Fun fact - Johan Heg, the singer, appears in the movie 'Northmen: A viking saga'. I think two Amon Amarth songs are also in the OST of the movie

Amon Amarth is one of the few 'growling' bands I have seen live many many times. They are so so good for their fans. Imagine this: 4 nights in a row, December 28, 29, 30 and 31 (new year's eve), 4 different concerts (1st night the 1st album and bonus material, 2nd night the 2nd album and bonus material, etc etc). They did an hour long signing session each night, a 2 hour show each night, and after the show they mingled with the fans in the bar of the venue. 4 nights in a row! Now that is fan dedication! (and yes, I was there all 4 nights, lol)

Seems like that's Biff Byford from Saxon on the high clean singing.... so Saxons anfd Vikings as in Saxon and Amon Amarth... :)

I got into Amon Amarth after seeing them support Ghost on tour last year. I would not have sought them out on my own, but after seeing them live and listening to a lot of their discography, I am a big fan of them! Very fun live and their songs are really good. Plus seeing a collab with a legendary Birtish heavy metal band like Saxon just jazzed me more!

A few things.. Amon Amarth, from their 2nd or so album have been VERY melodic. The do mostly sing about either Norse gods, battles that Norsemen were involved in or just general Viking silly buggery. Johan Hegg is a missive cuddly teaddybear irl If you like the duality in the vocals, you'd love "The dream that can not be" with Doro Persche then :) Notable tunes with viddy clips: Twilight of the ThunderGod, Deceiver of the Gods, Guardians of Asgaard, Cry of the blackbirds (oldie but a goodie) or for something completely off brand, Find a way or make one.

Yeah Johan is such a nice guy IRL. I met him once in Sweden after a concert. Only talked for like 5 minutes, but he is so nice and down to earth :)

My favourite song from Saxon is Crusader. 40 years old but still great. And Amon Amarth... man, they have so many great songs. Shield Wall, Raise your horns, Heidrun, Mjolner Hammer of Thor, Fafner's gold, Masters of war, Twilight of the thunder god, Tattered banners and blood flags, Cry of the black birds,.... You love it or you hate it ;-)

Interesting. I liked it. Not always in the mood to listen to it, but definetaly there are times when it suits me quite well, as I like a lot of different kinds of music style. Chase, let me advice you my fellow countryman from Hungary called Azariah. He is getting popular on YT these days internationally maybe, you heared of him. If not, you could check out some of his works. He is a singer, who is now one of the biggest star (if not the biggest) recently here in Hungary.
