why bother selling it? it's a knife, not a piece of electronic gear that becomes obsolete over time. Once you get it, you may as well just enjoy it for what it is. Whether you buy any more knives from them is up to you but the money is spent already and i don't see what the point of selling it will do other than give someone else a hard to come by knife and them NOT having to wait for it.

Same thing happened to me. No response for months and months to a year to 2 years. I started sending more emails and eventually survive finally hired someone to answer the emails. I asked for my money back and then the knife was magically ready. With that said , it’s a great knife. Literally one of the best I own. It’s heavy and beefy and stays sharp. Was it worth the wait def not but it was worth the money. So my recommendation would be to buy knives that are in stock from them.

What are you rambling about? People have knife orders from every year since 2015 that have yet to be fulfilled. There’s no other company interested in anything Survive is doing. There’s no other group coordinating attacks against Survive. Guy brought all these problems on himself. Failed promises can’t be plastered over by bringing on another patsy. Undelivered knives and especially expensive knives deserve a response from the buyer.

I discovered Survive through a local shop - totally random. The knives they showed me were “demo only”. I was impressed! The value there was obvious on the surface. The designs were very well executed. Ergos are excellent. What became clear very quickly were two things…okay, maybe three. The store couldn’t address availability. It was clear this was a mystery. I sent Survive an inquiry online - no replies. I’ve since reached out to a few makers who reply almost immediately. And while Survive tried to reflect updates on their website for apparent pre-orders, they had a graphs that reflected open orders and there were numerous ones that went back years. WTF? Maybe the site wan’t updated or accurate? Who knows. Interesting I ran across this YT vid. Immediately speaks to what I was concerned about. I was planning on a multi-knife purchase but just couldn’t pull the trigger on a company with such mystery attached to it. if they get their shit together, I’m in, but until then I can’t wait forever when there are so many other great choices out there. It's hard to say what they expect from existing dissatisfied customers but between their large number of sycophant followers, their quality and their prices if they can clean shop and right the ship they won't have to worry about it- It doesn't always seem it but the customer pool is essentially endless and despite everything going on Survive! still outsells me probably 10, or 50 to 1- and I don't think I have ever made a customer made with business practices. @@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors the problem with Guy is that he took a lesson straight out of andrew tates hustlers university and essentially put in orders for products that he didn't have the money for. He took in customers pre-order money to fund this order and now that there's problems with it, he can't refund anyone because he doesn't have the funds to do so. That's absolutely horrible business practice. Throughout this entire ordeal with Peter's Heat Treat and Niagra and his run of Magnacut, he's always saying that "it's not his fault" that the magnacut runs had so many problems. Which I believe him 100% that it isn't his fault. But it still is his fault for using customer funds to put in orders for product and no way of refunding the customer due to this problem. Take Bark River for example. You can put in a pre-order for a knife for FREE on knivesshipfree and when the knife is ready, THEN you can choose to pay for it and KSF will send it to you. If you decide not to buy it, they'll just put your configured knife up for sale on their website. But either BRK or KSF front the cost for materials and labor without collecting a dime from the customer, so in the event there's a problem with that particular run, it doesn't affect the customer and piss a bunch of people off. Guy has sent out order fulfillment charts and his own charts has shown that there are some orders that are 5,6 even SEVEN years old that haven't been fulfilled yet. Which means those knives pre-dates all of these problems with the current run of magnacut. That is absolutely ridiculous. I'm already on month 15, going on 16 months since i put in an order for a knife and the thing that worries me is that with each video, Guy barely ever talks about the model that i ordered. So who the hell knows when I'll actually get it.

Guy getting on his soap box was OK for a bit. But to single handedly try and take down CPM magnacut because he was having such issues when other makers are able to make what appears to be straight full blades with out voids takes a bit of steam out of his horn. I really wanted to buy one of his knives. However he himself by getting into public pissing matches with some folks has left a bad taste in my mouth. I do not want to discredit that he had issues. When you bring to light that while addressing issues you can not pick fights with other makers and not be willing to explore the issues with their input as well. Banging a drum asking for support and help and reimbursement but when some people show up and try to get an understanding to be able to see where the issues are and bam Guy is in another pissing match. I have noticed he is not posting his repeated complaints on youtube lately. I hope them Well but with so many other great companies like White River, LT Wright, VGKC, Esee there are a lot of solid options with out the Drama.

Congrats on the new kiddo bud. That being said. This business took money from a lot of people and now have left them hanging. Also…I have heard a few people talk about how “Incredible” these fixed blades are but I’ve handled a couple and they are just a fixed blade made on machines. They are not show stoppers or Amazing. There is nothing groundbreaking or new. It’s just a fixed blade knife. I am so confused by the concept that a machine produced fixed blade could be anything other than flat and straight. It’s standard. lol.
@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors3 ай бұрын
They did take money from people, and their situation is worse than even their haters guessed, and worse than I could have imagined. I can't even understand how it got to the point that it did. However the quality of the knives is more than just a machine made knife. A lot of modern companies HAVE gotten to this point and "survive quality and fit and finish" is available elsewhere more obtainably- but they aren't just another knife as a whole. They are very, VERY nice- for the grind lines to the edging to the 3d contoured scales. It might not do anything that another good knife doesn't but if you have an eye for the details the details are there.

@@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors Thanks for the response. I probably have a different idea on what a good knife is or what they are used for. I have gone to replaceable blade knives (scalpel) for hunting and small hatched for anything else. Laminated steel has been around for centuries, the science and engineering is sound.
@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors5 ай бұрын
@spatialinterpretations449 monosteels have also been around for centuries- and good and bad examples of both. A good knife or a good steel is not as simple as "if you make a knife steel sandwich it's better" There is no metric be it toughness, corrosion resistance, or edge holding in which Fallkniven's laminated steel outperforms all other premium steels, and the steels combination of attributes also doesn't come close to other premium steels like magnacut or even 3v- I don't even think it out performs our old tried and true aebl/ 13c28 🤷♂️ And of course steel selection is actually less important than edge geometry and heat treat as well. I have never understood fallknives following and claims of "best steel". 🤷♂️
@spatialinterpretations4495 ай бұрын
@@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors Fallknives has good geometry. It is all about hardness vs how brittle the knife is. Laminated steel reduces some of the issues. There is no one prefect solution - spending so much money on a knife that has limited task applications is not smart. I have never found a need to baton wood, cut steel and bricks with a knife. The one tool option is delusional.
@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors5 ай бұрын
@spatialinterpretations449 everything you just posted contradicts itself. Magnacut is tougher at 62hrc than fallknivens vg10 laminate at like 58. Something wild like that. You talk about spending so much money on a knife that has limited task applications is not smart- and yet fallkniven is expensive, AND you don't baton meaning you could use a knife with VASTLY thinner geometry than a fallkniven and be far better off. At one moment you speak against task specific knives, then the next speak against a one tool option- and yet of you don't baton and do everything else with a fallkniven you are using what is in practical application a one tool option. What is your actual knife experience outside of fallkniven, I feel like that could be our informational disconnect here.
