As a mother, there is only so much you can do for your adult children. You’re right, it’s one of the hardest parts of being a parent and very rarely spoken of, but watching your child make mistakes that hurt them so bad is so, so difficult…but at the end of the day, they have to make these decisions themselves. No matter what happened, you are not at fault here in any way. Your son knew how much you love and support him. Sometimes inner demons are just too much 😔. The strength you have in talking about this, that your thoughts are for other people and how you can possibly help them by this video and the links, only shows what an amazing mother you are. Sending you a huge hug from UK. ❤

I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to go on without your son. I lost my son 4yrs ago on his 25th birthday from a car accident & I lost my 25yr old stepson 8 months earlier from suicide. It hurts so much & I felt the same way you did. It was only God, my husband & my other 2 boys that got me through it. We learned about both deaths on the news, that was so hard. My son was my oldest son, I had given when I was 16yrs old. We went through alot together & I died inside when I lost him. I was so angry, not at God but at the woman that drove drunk & on drugs that went the wrong way & hit my son's car killing him instantly. No one knows the pain of losing a child til they do. I thought losing my parents was hard, I thought losing my late husband 8yrs ago was the hardest thing but no, losing my son was the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. My son was going to propose to his girlfriend that afternoon & never got to. The only joy I've had since losing him is my youngest son is expecting his 1st child in 2 months. Jesus has been gracious to us, even though there is so much pain in our lives. God knew that me & my husband were gonna need each other with the loss of our sons. My husband also has a daughter but she's in college & we don't see her like we want to. I thankfully get to see my middle (25yrs) & my youngest (23yrs) sons every day. Never say goodbye before you say I love you to anyone before you leave, it maybe the last time you get to see or talk to them. ❤🙏

It took great courage for you to make this video. I admire your courage. Your story resignates with me. I too am going through major life events with my grown son. He has been an alcoholic for years and suffers for depression. Now he has CHF and is no longer able to work, pay his bills, etc. This has sent him into a very dark place. I've heard, a mother is only as happy as her saddest child.. That is the honest to goodness truth. It's awful that you can only do so much to help them. Thank you for making this video. God bless you and your family.

Oh my word - how much can anyone be expected to endure without irretrievably breaking. 💔 It doesn't bear thinking about, it is too sad, leaving us all feeling helpless, unable to carry-on without knowing you're surrounded by your loved ones. All that can be said is how truly heart-broken we are to hear about these unthinkable multiple tragedies in the life of our wonderful Andrea - someone we think the world of - and whom shall be constantly in our prayers, with every wish and hope for the very best of everything to come from this day forward. God bless you and keep you safe in the knowledge you are much-loved, Andrea. 🙏

Hi Ms Andrea!!! Thanks for sharing your story. I want you to know that in a way I have been in your shoes! I don’t have any children. I am single and I have cerebral palsy. And I may have a mild autism spectrum disorder like Asperger’s syndrome. I’m not sure. I lost my dad to alcoholism and drug addiction July 5 2009. On August 23, 2020. I lost my dear Mom!!! Mom was my best friend!!!! I lived with her most of my life!!! My mom passed away from end stage COPD AND CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE. She was a very heavy smoker and the last seven years of her life she drank a lot of wine. So much wine that a box of wine would not last a week. But I miss watching tv with her at night and I miss our talks. I fixed dinner for Mon every day for nearly eight years did all the housework and yard work!!! I lived with Mom for twenty years after my Dad left home. She would take me for driving lessons on Sunday and bowling. We went to church every Saturday and we would prepare potluck dishes on Friday. I miss the way my Mom was before she quit working and was home all the time. She developed agoraphobia. I wish you the best in your life! I just wanted to share with you the things I have been through and let you know that I understand what you’re going through!!!! Thanks for your time. I am grateful to be a new subscriber to your channel as well!

How your experience with him as a baby, how YOU were the first to know everything he learned and everything you and he learned at the same time. Please please understand that. My heart hurts for you. I bet with everything, you are a wonderful and a beautiful person to your family and friends and to Christopher. You just described my brother who did the same exact thing 15 yrs ago...he also finalized his world ❤ and more recently my youngest son was going down the "rabbit hole" ...it's the scariest place ever...fortunately he got the help he desperately needed...he had actually posted on fb his final good bye and apologized for being such a failure...that was his cry... "shout rather" begging for help...that was 7 yrs ago and he struggles everyday...when they're young, you can kiss a boo-boo away...when they become adults, those skinned knees are way more serious. God bless YOU for sharing this part of your journey. The negative stigma of the 'rabbit hole" needs to be lifted. I watched 3 of your cooking videos this morning...for the 1st time on a KZbin suggestion...I think the reason God brought me to your channel wasn't for the recipes...it was for THIS video 🌹 I thank you for having the courage to publish your pain with the hope and prayers of saving another family from going thru what you've had to endure...God bless you and yours 🌹 know that someday you'll be reunited with your precious boy...and he can say "thank you Momma...you shouldn't blame yourself...this was on me Momma"... words I think you need to hear💖 I'll keep you and your family in my prayers and precious little Nora also🌹 find strength and peace in God...HE knows what he's doing 💖

Andrea I just found your channel. I am so very sorry for your losses. I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your dear brother and son. You are a beautiful person and are so filled with love for family. The love between a parent and child is such a strong bond, that it will never be broken. Never. You did NOT fail your son. You loved him and he knew it. You know he loved you. That love is forever. By making this video, you honour him. You have helped so many people. This is a tribute to him. Thank you for sharing the video of Christopher with your granddaughter. That is beautiful. You will keep his memory alive for her. You will tell her all about her Daddy, so she will grow up knowing how much he loved her. Andrea, I pray for you and your family, that you may find peace and healing. Please take good care of yourself. Please know that others care. Lean on family and friends for support. When people ask us how we are, the automatic response is always “fine “. That word is the biggest lie of a word, in the English language. We say it all the time, but it is rarely if ever true. Surround yourself with all those you hold dear. Lean on them and let them know how you are feeling. My deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers for you and your family. Lots of love coming to you from British Columbia, Canada.❤❤❤❤❤

Hi, Thank you so much for your kind words. It has been so hard for us to deal with. The pain has been unbearable at times, but I'm sure this is part of the process. I hope my son knew how much I loved him. I would've done anything for him....ANYTHING!! He let his brain continue to tell himself lies. I just wish I could go back in time and change so many things, but I can't. I will definitely make sure Nora knows how much Chris loved her and knows everything about him. I have his clothes and Nora's mom is going to make a blanket made for her out of his T-shirts. That way she can have him close to her every single day. Again, thank you so much for your kind words and for the prayers. We need all we can get. God Bless! 💜🩵

God bless you, Andrea ... so very anguished over all you're having to endure. Your beloved son is safely in the arms of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ - his body & soul are now perfect, without pain, suffering, tears. Please accept the love and every sincere prayer conveyed from all of us who admire you so much - whose hearts are broken to hear - in your own enormously, indescribably profound, grief-stricken voice - which is indeed compounded by the recent loss of your dear brother. There are no words to adequately express the sorrow we sincerely feel on your behalf - and of course realise they offer no comfort in the midst of such deeply personal torment. You're an angel - a wonderful, loving, beautiful mother to your precious son - always hold-on to that extraordinary truth. 🙏

Thank you so much for your comforting words and support. 💜 This has been the hardest thing I've ever had to face. This year has been so hard and full of so many losses. Lost my almost 16 year old Pomeranian on August 27th. Then 2 miscarriages from 2 of my daughters. Sometimes I ask God how how does do it on a daily basis because it's hard to face just what I'm going through, much less all of creation.

God bless you and your precious family ... your daughters are indeed fortunate to have such a wonderful, extraordinary mother - especially meaningful whilst going through extreme difficulties. Having each other to lean-on is a blessing, as there is deep understanding amongst you which is incomprehensible to fathom. It is impossible to determine why such tragic losses happen - and indeed challenging to faith. We can only pray that God will intervene on our behalf to see us through such inexplicable suffering. God bless you, Andrea - you're a rare, beautiful angel. 🙏

I’m so sorry, this channel is new to me and I am moved beyond sadness for you. May I make a suggestion? Gather up photos of Christopher and write down some funny stories or loving things abt him. Make a book to give to Nora; she may be too young right now but I promise you she will cherish it someday. Do it while the memories are fresh, time has a way of claiming our time from the past. It will help you to memorialize him, and show his true value and worth. God Bless 🙏

Oh yes the mind will play head games when you are enebriated. You and your husband did the right thing by doing what you did. I went threw this and pretty much had to do the same thing as you.

Hello Ms Andrea, I came across your page this morning by just random chance. I saw your 2 ingredients biscuit video and was so excited to find it and how easy it was...then I saw this after subscribing to your page. Let me say first that I am a 48 yr old man and life long "Step" father of 3 children now adults. Their father died when they were small children and a baby. So ive raised them pretty much their entire lives. My son, whos now 23 has has severe mental health and substance abuse issues since he was a teenager....he was molested by a neighborhood teen boy when he was 9 years old and it REALLY messed him up. We put him in all the suggested help places and thought he was ok and moved on. But as he started to become older and puberty set in, he started having issues with the fact he had been molested by another male and that he was sexually confused..long story shirt he developed severe depression and we had severe behavior issues with him as a teen. He got to the point of running away for weeks, running on the streets, using drugs, etc etc. even as an older teen 16 on, we couldn't control him. He would threaten us, steal, lie, etc but deep down he was hurting. He is like your son, a super sensitive, caring, loving, give the shirt off his back type when he is himself. He buried his pains with drugs and inside. We tried so many times get him help. We too had him arrested and placed into a facility and recovery program for 18 months when he was 16. He came out so happy and well! Then he got back with his old group and ex girlfriend and started running again about 7 months later. Well to save time, ill move on. At 18 he barricaded himself in our home on night after him and I had a dispute and he was high. We called the cops because he was threatening to kill everyone and himself...the swat team showed up, they blocked the road off and my son decided to break into my safe and get my guns and load them...he was yelling that he was gonna "die by "s" by cop"...after 5 hours he was talked out and it ended peacefully. They took him to the hospital where he spent believe it or not 3 hours! And they said he was fine!!!!! A mental health Dr said he was fine and it was drug induced! So we went and got him. Anyway my son finally got clean and is now 23. He still has issues and has bipolar depression which hes being treated for. But i worry for him everyday and am scred he will relapse every time something bad happens in his life...i totally understand your fear and pains. Your story hit me so hard but also gave me some understanding and not feeling alone in this. I want to say first im so sorry for your losses! Seriously sorry. And I want to say THANK YOU for sharing your story and for allowing me to receive some peace, understanding and comfort listening to you. Your energy and realness in sharing is magnetic. So thank you. I also want to say that your brothers story gave me goose bumps because i am dealing with some severe health issues myself. I am severely diabetic, my kidneys are at 30 percent and at risk of failing and I have an autoimmune disorder thats causing me many other issues...then you said he drove an old cop car....my mouth dropped because i drive a 2008 ford crown vic cop car and Ive told my eife many times how safe it is and nothing could ever happen to me in it......I was like "whoa". Anyhow im not trying to compare with your story, just saying how your story hit me personally and made me connect. I am working on my health and as of now my son is doing ok and is clean. I am thankful to god for that and know he has everything in his hands and I rely on him for healing and protection for my entire family. Thank you again for sharing and I am so glad I found your channel! I pray for you that things get so much better and that you receive peace and healing. Take care.

Wow!! You are not alone. It’s so hard as parents to let our grown children continue to make the wrong choices. It’s the hardest thing a parent can do. Chris (my son) would always get so down on himself when things didn’t work out for him. Some people can’t handle certain things. His depression started, I believe when he signed up for the Navy. His girlfriend broke up with him before he left for boot camp. That itself was like he was punched twice in the gut. So, not being in a good mindset, going to boot camp was so hard for him. Long story short, he was honorably discharged just a few weeks after he got there. I believe he was trying to gain approval from my ex husband. No one could ever get approval from him. If I could go back in time and do it all over again, I’d change a lot of things. I would protect my son better and do better myself. No matter how hard I try, I still blame myself for not being able to save him. I tried so hard and worried and worried every day for him. When he stopped checking in with me, I knew something was up. I think about him morning, noon and night. I can’t even sleep peacefully anymore. I’ll get startled just as I’m about to fall asleep. That happens several times on some nights. It’s so hard to explain to anyone cause I relive that day every single day in my head. You never think it will be one of your children that does this to themselves. I thank God every day for allowing me 33 wonderful years with him. He was such a handsome young man! I just wish he would’ve called me, called his sponsor or talked with a friend. As for my brother, he had a black Crown Victoria and the airbags are not as they should be. His girlfriend said when she went to get his things from the car she noticed one of his shoes was stuck between the gas petal and the console. His foot could’ve gotten stuck. We’ll never know. Im just glad he’s at peace now. Please be safe in your old crown vic and wear your seatbelt. My brother didn’t have his on since his belly was so swollen from all the fluid. I will pray for you and your family that god will give you and especially your son peace. I hope you and yours has a happy and blessed Thanksgiving holiday. God bless you! 🙏🏻

I lost my son, he was murdered. I felt like failed my son. He was married, worked for the City, made good money, was a workaholic but had one bad habit: he use drug. He owed drug dealer money and they shot him outside his house. I was so devastated and I still grieve for my son. I only had one son and now he is gone. What helped me through this grief is the church, God and good church family that prayed for me. I still miss my son so much, I use to be at the cemetary often almost every week.

These are spiritual issues that need to be addressed spiritually. The field of mental health is not capable of helping. They did not create and they cannot heal.
