The direct switch is so cool. I’ve seen a few guitarists totally bypass or rip out pick ups, and V/T controls with straight bridge pickup wired to output, and it usually makes it 25% louder. I love that they give you a similar option

I bought a VOLA OZ RV TNC after discovering the brand thanks to Fish here. For anyone wondering, they really are as good as they look. For £1500 I proudly own an instrument with the best neck I’ve ever played, the Gotoh trem that handles abuse very well, the direct out switch is an amazing feature and it’s just an all round beast and looks incredible. I’ve played Ernie Balls and Suhr guitars for twice the price that I haven’t enjoyed as much. VOLA are easily one of the best modern guitar companies on the planet.

They really nailed it with this one! I'm a fan of Japanese guitars and basses. But I have never been a fan of Vola's designs in the past. However, this one is awesome! It's not pointy, but it integrates Vola's signature back shape in a way that makes sense. Also, the pickup config and switching make so much sense. It looks cool, it sounds awesome, it has its own distinct character, and it's reasonably priced - jackpot!

On a day when I have woken up a bit down & then switched on the TV here in Australia to see a crazy US POlitics debate, it's nice - heartwarming - to see such a positive review of guitars. I don't own any Vola guitars.... But I do own a few Japanese made Fenders and they are as good in quality as a good Mexican Fender if not USA made.... I wish Vola made guitars in a shorter scale than 25.5", I find myself wanting at least 24.75 scale these days.... I love it when you get so excited by the guitars and then set off with a track.... Thanx Hunter.

Dude this is probably my favorite video of yours so far, for a bunch of reasons. These guitars are VERY cool. If I was in the market for another guitar right now I'd probably grab that sunburst. Damned if I don't love a P90, and this pup combination is something I could make some great use of. Your demo song here is absolutely rockin. I could listen to a full album of stuff like this. And your editing and lighting and everything on the video looks as good or better than anything I've ever seen on this channel, imo. Dude, you're friggin killing it.

I think the JZ is sick. Vola in general is sick! AND I love that you work to make even (modernized) classic style guitars CHUG and do things that maybe weren't the initial intention of the manufacturer (like they're gonna stop us ;) ). Other than a couple LP Studios, I have a couple HSS Schecter Nick Johnston Traditional S guitars, AND just picked up a killer Suhr Custom S HSS, and all 3 include some modern updates/touches, but are classic at their cores, AND THEY CAN CHUG! I don't need the hottest pickups, flattest boards, most modern crazy features, because they all do a decent job of everything! NOW, once I learn to really effing play, maybe that will be different ;)

Love those additional controls. Thing looks sick. I do like burst + the tort but that white with the pickups fkin DOES it for me. As far as that middle pu on/off… wouldn’t that part of the demo have been neck plus middle without the SC then the SC got added in? Just for clarity’s sake, not trying to nitpick. (I was rewinding and checking the website trying to figure it out how it works)

@agufish Hi, I'm thinking about buying this Vola guitar and I'd appreciate your input. I've read that it's better suited for Jazz and clean tones due to its P90's and might not be ideal for genres like Rock, Hard Rock, or Alternative when using distortion because of potential noise issues. Some reviews also suggest tuning it down for better results in these genres. What are your thoughts on this? Is it a good choice?

These guitars look sumptuous! This modernizing of the 'classics' is absolutely necessary to evolve beyond the established, dusty normative , and allow new players to set themselves apart from the past styles and mindsets of desirable guitar shapes. Ironically, if 'new & different' was the 'norm', then the subsequent back lash would be embracing the 'classics' once again in an endless loop fashion cycle

I'm so confused why they're being called P90s, or on their website, a FVP90. Should it not be a P94? It's the size of a humbucker...so by dimensions alone, it can't replicate the sound of a soapbar or dogear. unless Gibson has a trademark on P94, so this is how to get around it?

It is in the USA about $1200, to get a fender to this level it needs to be an american model... which will be more expensive. To get a roasted flame maple neck like this on a fender... you'll need custom shop which is way way expensive. To get stainless steel frets.. well no, with locing tuners... push pull blower switch... luminlay dots and fret markers

They are already super affordable for the specs. If you tried to buy a Fender with similar specs you're looking at close to $3000, a similarly spec'd Prestige Ibanez? $2400ish. They are as affordable as is appropriate for their high quality.
@bluematrix50013 ай бұрын
Man, your reviews are cool but you should really measure the neck width and the thickness of the neck in 3 different fretboard positions with a caliper.... that will give us a way better sense of how is the neck on the guitars, that is a crucial component of any Guitar, adjectives about guitar necks are so personal. numbers are facts.... any review or report of a Guitar without that info is lacking so much
