Hello Mr. Stevens, first I wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with the world, I believe that you embody in a very noble way the philosophy of life of Judo. Second, I beg you to please one day make a video about Uki-Otoshi where I explain how to do kusushi in kata and competition. Greetings from Chile.

Hey Mr Stevens, I'm from India and I'm really passionate about judo. I live in village area, where my judo couching is not up to the mark. I really want to become an Olympic champion. Please guide me how i can become a better judoka. I'm really interested in learning but no one's teaching me in a good manner. Please don't ignore this comment and Love from India. I hope you will reply.

@@TravisStevensgrappling I got your instructional from BJJ fanatic and it is awesome, you explained very well. My wish is someday you will make the instructional about grip and off balance, in my opinion most of judo academy and instructionals out there don't explain very well about this topic and I think it is very important to know how to gain grip control and off balance as well as how to defend it. Just my wish. Thanks anyway

@@TravisStevensgrappling Is Uchi Mata easy for a BJJ player to counter? Wouldn't it then be super easy for a Judo player to counter then? So is this throw not very good? (Sorry I'm a noob to Judo)

I gave this a like just for the hane goshi comments. Whenever someone claims a far leg uchi mata as "hane goshi" I tell them that's how Inoue does it and if you want to tell him it's hane goshi, be my guest.

@@SereneJudo I get that, but ippon seoi nage is a hand technique but I've seen people (myself included) benefit from using the hip in performing the throw. I feel the big issue is that style of uchi mata is really in between a "classical" hane and a "classical" uchi mata. So it can be called either in my opinion.
@cucciafr68
@cucciafr68 4 жыл бұрын
@@SereneJudo I see where you are coming from. I am well aware of the difference in all the techniques (well, most of them at least). My point is these differences shine when doing the classical style of each throw, making it very apparent. But when you start to do kuzure techniques that differ slightly from the classical "kata" version they start to venture towards other, similar throws. The big difference for me for the two throws is whether or not the leg is inside of uke's or in front of uke's. This style of uchi mata is the style I prefer and I get annoyed when people call it hane goshi, just because my leg bends slightly, mimicking the action of hane. There arr times messing around with variations of different throws where you have to stand back and realize it technically becomes something else due to a certain change. I hope my argument makes sense to you as my stance on the subject. Thanks for the detailed response.
@cucciafr68

@@SereneJudo I also forgot to add but for me I do use a lot of hip in my seoi nage. I'm a big guy, it's necessary sometimes, haha.
