Hey love you guys work I have land in Asheville North Carolina I’m bout to be breaking ground with all of these techniques. I also happen to be a tile maker and Guastavino is buried here in the Basilica that he built and I’ve been studying his work. I have lots of bamboo on my land. I’m thinking about making bamboo lattice mesh with cloth Crete. Would be fun to host a weeklong workshop with you guys. Here my plan is to host, natural builders from around the world as we develop the land.

This is really inspiring and the design of the hut is beautifully elegant. In Italy, in the regions which are most beautiful there are terribly problems with earthquakes so these concepts would be a very practical and energy efficient solution. It might be something which the authorities are prepared to approve but for someone who isn't interested in their opinion the design hides quiet well underground :)

Hello Harry and Alosha, great show! I like the fact that Alosha shared so many visual examples. its also a great contribution to the architecturevolution of home building system alternatives. I like where your going with this. keep it up. Oh, and ya that tip about the tire driveway was a good one and appreciated. thank you both.

Great video! I love to see you connecting with other people within these specific craftsmanships of homes, which made me curious if your building of homes would change or in other words adapt a few things if you see them fit in your style of building the domes- would love to see a video about what you got out of this exchanges of info. I'm slowly getting hungry for your content about domes so I hope to see it soon :) ... btw you blew my mind with info about roads made out of tires! :D

Each day we get a chance to seek knowledge & take something positive from a moment & experience. The main reason for the past 3 interviews I released on the channel is to create a bridge of links to connect people to other builders, developers & diyers - to experience a boost & learn new applications. Many have been around for years, many are new. Glad you enjoyed the video. Each of us showed & have shown on our own channels the techniques & process including benefits of our paths & why we do it a certain way. At the end of the day - it is about options & being welcoming of introducing different techniques where it may fit best. The tire information is indeed very powerful & beneficial!

Love this video Harry! Alosha has great ideas and lots of experience.... I felt inspired by the simple wood arches and log buttresses used in the beginning of the video! Your comments were very helpful and the two of you covered these ideas well and the visuals really brought this to life... Well done my friend!

what if you fill a double shell dome with superadobe? or with styrocrete as "Abundance Building Concepts" uses.
@AircreteHarry
@AircreteHarry 10 ай бұрын
In theory it would work fine.
@DiLLyDaLLyHo
@DiLLyDaLLyHo Ай бұрын
It should work fine, but don’t go forward until you are extremely familiar with the difference between thermal mass and insulation. A lot of alternative building methods try to use the concepts interchangeably, but they are different and that can be really significant if you’re in the wrong climate.

Hello AirCrete Harry, what would happen if you sprayed aircrete on the outside of a shipping container? would that increase insulation? would the aircrete play nice with the metal container or would it corrode it.. ?
@AircreteHarry
@AircreteHarry 10 ай бұрын
Welcome to the channel Alex 👍 To clarify - as many confuse the process: Aircrete is not sprayable. You could pour Aircrete on the roof. For the walls you would go with making the Aircrete bricks technique. As long as a shipping container is painted with rustproof paint it would work well. Is that something you have in mind on working on yourself?

@@AircreteHarry one day I hope to buy some land and have a go! Hmm I wonder if a form could be made to pour some aircrete panels that fit the corrugated sides of the container 🤔 similar to how they have those internal corrugated styrofoam insulation panels…
@AircreteHarry
@AircreteHarry 10 ай бұрын
@@alexlavertyau Yes, that's a possibility. It could be designed in CAD or drawing to better fit the walls 👍

@@AircreteHarry wow , that's awesome. I have a shipping container home i live in and had been contemplating how i could cover the roof and walls with aircrete. I was going to ask you Harry about the mix ratios and best imgredients to use. I figure the roof could only be 3 or 4 " thick. id build a form and pour it. I was wondering if and what kind of reinforcement/ rebar, etc. to use so i can not worry about heavy weight cracking it or denting the roof. I was also contemplating if i should spray it first with a releas agent and pour 4x8' panels in case i ever wanted to remove them. I would caulk the seems and maybe just weld on 4 stainless steel 5/8" nuts and bolts with washers on each panel. For the sides i would build a 4x8' form with a face panel that gets braced at a 45 angle and filled from the top. spray a release agent on both the form and the container. walls. make it 4" thick. 2" fill the valley ridges and 2" beyond the outer side of the coregation. reinforce the pannel with hog wire and a couple rebars. use my bolting method to both keep it attached snug and for removal in the future if needed. any idea of the R factor for just doing the outside.
