Yes I’ve been practicing abstinence for almost 3 years now and it’s been a journey. I love what you said about having that same intimacy with God. My Sexual desire comes from that craving of intimacy for me & I use to beat myself up about it because you can often think is God not enough? Why do I keep feeling like this when I’m supposed to be practicing holiness & purity. But accepting that 1. There’s nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to have those kind desire and 2. Christ Will literally walk you through it. Building intimacy with him in that area is something I’m currently working on by submitting my thoughts to him, praying and just talking to him about the feeling and what I need. The journey isn’t easy but we serve a God who walks you through it, guiding you step by step! Love this and all ur vids! ❤

I love this verse from The Quran in the chapter on Prophet Joseph (Yusuf). It basically demonstrates that even the prophets who were the best of people had temptations. Surah Yusuf, Verse 24: وَلَقَدْ هَمَّتْ بِهِ وَهَمَّ بِهَا لَوْلَا أَن رَّأَىٰ بُرْهَانَ رَبِّهِ كَذَٰلِكَ لِنَصْرِفَ عَنْهُ السُّوءَ وَالْفَحْشَاءَ إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُخْلَصِينَ And certainly she made for him, and he would have made for her, were it not that he had seen the manifest evidence of his Lord; thus (it was) that We might turn away from him evil and indecency, surely he was one of Our sincere servants. Courtney! You have a gift of speaking! The way you articulate things, explain, and get to levels of understanding about things is truly something beautiful to witness. Now about tthis topic, I have struggled a bit in agreeing or seeing the reasoning as to why God has called us to this standard. But as you said, when you see others being able to so easily fulfill this urge without (what seems to be) a care in the world, you question yourself and God about why He's even asked this of us. But as I have allowed myself to wonder and search this area, I have learned that it is not as simple or just a request as you've said. I really resonated with you about going to God with these urges and every need to satisfy the void or thing I am actually reaching for. He is enough and He can meet my needs. Hey sis, love your videos as always, this came at the right time for me I’ve been a celibate christian for 11 months and all of a sudden I’ve started struggling and feeling tempted, I’m not in a relationship/near any men lol but still met with this temptation. I want to be prepared for the future when I decide I want to date bc I don’t want to be achieving celibacy alone but then crumbling when I meet a man. I think part of the struggle could be that there is a point of view that the main benefit of relationships are sex but within society there is an increasing dissapointment and resentment towards men from women. I think because of this, a lot of women don't have strong hopes for relationships getting to the point of marriage. How would you break this down?

There might be a time in the future when marriage completely disappears, and people only live for themselves, not caring about other people or relationships. That would be the point of ultimate individualism.

It really made me tear up when you said that this channel is a safe space for everybody. Although I'm not strictly Christian, I'm quite spiritual; I pray to the universe and l resonate deeply with a lot of the faith-based things you talk about on this channel. Despite this, I've never felt welcome in churches or fellowships due to being a member of the LGBT+, and it's not only hurtful, but also means I don't have friends who talk about this kind of stuff. I have suffered a lot of trauma in my life that has caused me to act hypersexual/codependent, and with the help of therapy and videos such as these, I am trying to stay celibate until my next meaningful relationship (which I will not rush into). Anyway, thank you so much for creating this girl chat. I wish you the best. Sending love and healing energy to all!
