I knew this set would take off the first year it was released it just so surprising it took this long for people to realize it's the best sword n shield set and probably the best set ever!!!

Once this set goes out of stock, it is going to explode. It is the best SwSh set, and the only reason it is so cheap is because it was so printed. Once people start feeling some serious scarcity, it will go away real fast, and I feel like we are seeing the beginning of that now. In a way, this set is the last bastion of SwSh

It’s definitely a good set we all know that but the over printed aspect did destroy it for a good while there. It’s really validating to see it rising finally. Also regretting selling all my raw cards off. Oh well! 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m just sitting back and laughing. I’ve been saying CZ is the best SWSH set since I first opened, and the best modern set ever. By far the deepest set ever made. But not just volume but great quality as well. The legendary beasts might not even all fit into the top 10 that’s how deep the set is. Happy I already completed my chase pulling Suicune V and 90% of the Masterset done. Now that it’s being pumped I already have most of the top hits, some ETBs leftover and a bunch of Black Friday Pikachu boxes. I just can’t wait until the CZ ETB is $100 and 151 gets reprinted this fall/winter. Prices will crash on 151 and I will finish my Masterset. People will start saying 151 is overrated. It’s not about the art or joy of pulling, it’s just $. That’s why ES is the least enjoyable SWSH set to open and is the “best”. It’s the most expensive. Can’t wait for this 151 slander and the current CZ praise.

@@orionsires Yes 151 and CZ are the greatest modern sets and the beast is only tamed by being a specialty set that’s mass printed. If they were booster boxes, easily $1k. CZ was $60 an ETB when it released before getting mass reprinted. 151 is about $60 and is going to get mass reprinted. Both will be $100+ in the future. I’m just buying as much as I can. I wanna rip this until I’m done with the hobby.

I'd just like to comment and act as confirmation bias on the point about 20 years from now when kids grow up and have adult money to spend on Pokemon cards. I'm 26 and making a pretty significant amount of money and I've spent probably close to 100k on cards and products since getting into the hobby only since March. I'm aware I'm an early bloomer and most people my age aren't making very much money at all, but there is a ticking time bomb within the next 5-10 years of many more folks in my generation to begin pouring a ton of money into nostalgia and love for the franchise that defined their childhoods. I'm putting 70% of my savings into the S&P and the rest into Pokemon. I've never seen a stronger and more promising looking market in my life.

I’ve dumped soo much into this hobby both because I love it but also because I see the potential for this market to outpace the traditional markets. I have been buying into CZ booster bundles from walmart. I think these are the closest we can get to a booster box and will have no trouble selling in the future.

I am absolutely going after 1 case of each SV sets and I just bought a case of Paldea Evolved for a good price here in Canada. I can buy a single case every 2-3 months because I try and keep a pretty strict spending budget.

I definitely need to practice being more present with my kid and partner. It’s hard sometimes for me because I’m super add but it’s something I’m trying to get better at. Thank you for recognizing how hard I work, I don’t expect sympathy but it’s just the truth. Thanks fam and definitely think it’s wise at this point to pick at least a box of each set up 🙏🏼

You made a great point at the end that it’ll be interesting to see how set releases for booster boxes in the future go since all the investing is leaning that route. I have a good amount of etbs but they are either specialty set like CZ and 151 or PC exclusive ones. Booster box preorders will probably sell out within minutes if they pump out some awesome sets to end this era which I think they will!

I just started looking at PSA 10 CZ cards. Suicune was a $60 card all day!!! Now the last sold auction was about $140. I was happy to get one at $100.

i have 2 etb plus ans 1 reggie cz etb. i opened about 10 cz etbs when it released. cz got printed heavy just like anything else that over populates shelfs people dont feel driven yet. time is coming as long as pokemon stays healthy, constantly growing. i think were seeing the waves of new customers brought in after 151. evolving skies is a very well done set. i started back with swsh like many others.

So, I got back into Pokemon about 3 months ago. 151 was my first set to complete. After 151 I started some swsh, hunting evolving skies and opening pretty much only evo skies, silver tempest, and lost origin. I’ve been to card shops, trading others and checking out what singles my small shop has. Opened some paldea evolved and temporal. Pretty nice stuff, but I recently went to trade with a buddy who doesn’t know Pokemon and I was pointing out all the expensive cards in a guys binder. Then I picked out a few cards I wanted. Didn’t know what sets, just the cards I liked. I ended up picking out about 5/7 SVBASE cards. SV1 is highlyyyy slept on. Take a look at swsh base and tell me sv1 is not a phenomenal set. I basically just wanted to say I think you’re right about it being the play. TF is pretty damn good too.

I don’t really care about grading, sure I’m going to grade occasionally but I think raw cards in the binder for modern is the move for me and keeping my master sets together too 😎 nothing hits like a binder when it’s all finished and you go back to admire it.

I bought a set of psa 9 Legendary Dogs. Crown Zenith was the first set I decided to attempt to master (40 a box). I've stopped to purchase other things but definitely going back. Hands down my favorite set to open.

When CZ dropped I was paying anything to get boxes anywhere. Will always be well remembered. Psa 9 could probably crack for 10 anyways. All grading is so subjective anyways. I love 9’s personally. Great value as a buyer collector who just wants slabs and protection. Congrats on the pickups my guy!!! 🔥😎

All I am sitting on crown zenith wise is a couple mini tin displays and one of the gamestop lugia boxes. I ripped everything else I had... Maybe 140 packs or so 🤷‍♂️🤣 I didn't get any gold cards, but I did get a coupe mewtwos.

Love crown zenith. It is the set I have opened the most of and the first master set iv ever completed. I also did not pull any of the legendary dogs which are some of my favorite cards(I am a huge gen 2 fan) but I did pull all gold alts and they all 4 came back psa 10s. Love the video. Nice to see CZ getting some love. I would have to say that 151 dose top it though.

151 tops everything in my book. I need to buy more asap. But yeah I pulled hella golds graded them to flip and ended up selling them at Charlotte collect a con for next to nothing LOL learned from that mistake big time still can’t believe I didn’t get any dogs :/ 😂

Now that crown zenith single prices are spiking up I started buying the Japanese versions instead. I rather pay $15 for the mewtwo vstar than $90. Or $20 for the charizard vstar where crown zenith doesn’t even have that card. It’s a promo in english

Dang son. Your wild for going heavy on battle styles and scarlet violet base. I know there the cheapest, but its usually for a reason. The market has sort of spoken. Im personally waiting for the dragon set to be revealed. I dont want to go too heavy into any of these, if an evolving skies could be around the corner.

You could be right or you could be costing the opportunity to invest in everything that is about to move. I personally just like to be diversified. Never know what will pop off the most. SV base is also one of my favorites because of Miriam, koraidon and miraidon and gardevoir it’s just a slam dunk for my tastes personally. Way better buy than BS honestly. Feel good about it even now at 540 a case. That’s 100$ a box after taxes 🔥😎 but hey there’s always risks and I’m gonna go heavy into every set moving forward regardless. I hope we do get the next ES it’s about time!!! 😂

@@orionsires agreed. Thats why Im still grabbing a few boxes of the good sets like temporal and paldea. Temporal was 79 a box for me on Tiktoc. Its odd though, I remember when evolving skies released. It was well recieved, but people were not going crazy like they are now. Its reception was pretty similiar to somthing like temporal forces. People liked it and opened it but the sentiment that it was the set of the generation did not come untill long after. There literally no way to tell if temporal could be our evolving skies, and we just dont know it yet. These things are hard to predict and never obvious in the moment. Only with hindsight does it ever seem obvious.

Idk man …. Plenty of people agree SV base crushes SwSh base… And SwSh base set is $300+….. And nobody likes SwSh base…. 🤷‍♂️ I’m invested, not heavily but definitely thinking about picking up more SV base. Prolly got like 4/5 BB . Priced at around $80 or so… (snagged 3 off some TikTok deals for $67 tax and shipped!)

@@TheSnackAttackingSnorlax id spend the extra 10 bucks and get the more popular sets with more expensive singles with the harder pull rates. Theres a good chance that choice will be the equivelent of buying like battle styles or vivid unstead of evolving skies because it was 15 bucks cheaper. I try to always choose the best sets with the best prospects. Sword and shield base was an anomoly, it was pre pandemic when supply was far less, I wouldnt expect to see that again, personally. But only time will tell.

Do you prefer a psa 10's over a cgc 10's? I actually think the slabs on cgc are a bit superior due overall quality. The plastic is more clear, which makes the artwork more crisp. That, combined with the new black label really makes the artwork pop nicely. But for the overall re-sale value I get that psa is the best choice for now.
