Being popular or not in high school feels very serious and like it says a lot about your worth and who you are, but teenagers value the most shallow, inconsequential and sometimes harmful things because they simply don’t know better. Don’t let what literal children value define who you are. I struggle with not feeling like I’m popular or well liked even now, but I’m learning to appreciate and accept the freedom that not being preferred and favoured brings. Taking people off the pedestal we put them on is very liberating. People don’t like me? I can embrace that and not live my life around their acceptance and trying to earn/maintain it at the expense of being my authentic self. Being accepted is never worth that.

This whole comment is filled with so much wisdom!!! & the part of not letting what literal children value define u🤯. It’s soo true!! But at that age, we think we’re grown LOL. Not being the ‘preferred’ one at times, really is a blessing, you won’t have to deal with certain things but be at peace..✨🕊️ & yh, no one should be on too high of a pedestal, as if they’re God Himself. We’re all just flawed humans at the end of the day🤷🏾♀️. Thank u for engaging in the comments boo! Appreciate u❤️❤️❤️

I sooo relate to this video! I wasn't popular in high school whatsoever, but now I'm kind of glad that I wasn't lol. I think it allowed me to develop my own character and interests without being swayed too much by outside influences. Great video, Maria, and happy belated birthday! 🥳

We all had snakes that we thought were our friends. My sister and I had plenty. Thank you for sharing this video. Many of the popular students I knew in high school have aged really bad since I have graduated. And some of the popular kids that I knew have died due to living a wild lifestyle and some are in jail. It's really sad.

It is really sad!!! But when u tell ppl this, instead of taking heed to ur wise counsel, they’ll deflect by saying ur being ‘judgmental’ absolutely no accountability whatsoever in this society.. God have mercy🙏🏾❤️

Honestly, I wasn’t popular in high school and never wanted to fit in because they were all followers. They still are followers as adults. I can’t stand sheep. I’m glad I stayed true to myself. I’ve always wanted to just do my own thing. Also, they were terrible people 9/10 times. Last, as an adult, you can tell who won’t let go of their high school mentality in the real world. It’s very sad..seriously😭high school popularity will not decrease the price of rent, pay your bills, put food in your stomach, etc. It means nothing after you graduate college imo because college is high school 2.0.

I wish I had the self-esteem/confidence, you had in high school to stay true to myself, instead of always trying to fit in😭 (something I still struggle with till this day tbh..) Adults not letting go of their high school mentalities is soo embarrassing like what🧍🏾♀️ but lool, ur right!! The old ‘popularity’ really won’t pay the bills or anything, so is essentially worthless🤷🏾♀️. Ty for taking the time to watch & comment boo!💕x

Hii Maria :) I was homeschooled my high school years so I cant say I've had this problem, but I can say I've had more of a fear of missing out. Like seeing all my middle school friends post fun things from high school on their socials. I'm just 18 (will be 19 ,September 26) . Also yes storytime on this "Snake" girl 👀 ~as always I enjoyed your video 💓
