I am currently using the z6iii + 20mm f1.8 S, 50mm f1.8 S, and the Tamron 28-75mm G2 f2.8… for the venues I’m currently shooting, they work great. I do hope that Tamron releases their G2 70-180mm f2.8 for Zmount this year. Also ordering the 135 Plena, I had a 135 on my Fuji system (90mm f2) and I LOVE that focal length for concerts

@sonderbass I rarely use a 50mm f1.8 but I have one. Reason is that I do not shoot a lot of small clubs anymore. It's a great sharp lens. I'm playing around with a Nikon 24-120mm f4 because I want a little wider view on the second camera. I've never had a Tamron lens but they do make lenses that really fit what is needed in concert photography. The 135mm Plena should be nice. For me the way I shoot 135mm lenses are awkward. I have nicknamed my 80-200mm f2.8 Butter, It's creamy but still sharp as a tack. It's my style. Thanks for viewing! -R

@ I use that 50 in my local venues green room for artist portraits! I occasionally shoot the performance on it, but mainly have that 28-75 on. The 20 is perfect for stage shots or shots of the crowd from the stage. Appreciate your channel and have learned a lot from your videos! Until next time :)

I can't say enough about my Tamron 35-150mm 2-2.8 as the primary lens for my Nikon z8 (also available for Sony). Not a cheap lens by any reasonable definition-- but a great value lens at its price point, particularly for concert (and any overall event, in general) photography. Excellent in a huge range of lighting conditions; very sharp and just works well in just about every situation I've thrown at it.

@zanshin825 I saw that lens was available and looked almost like the perfect range for concert photography. I like a little wider and that is one the reasons I use a 28-105mm. From the reviews I have seen it looks to be fantastic. i see many people use the 24-70mm but for me that is just not long enough. I laugh because one of the forums I am on I see people trying to use lenses that obviously not a good fit for the job and they act stunned when they find out. I have been thinking about making a second part on usage for later this spring. Thanks for watching! -R

Makes sense. If I want to take a few really wide shots to get more of the audience, I'll use my Viltrox 16mm 1.8 (also an amazing value lens, also great for a variety of use cases). Whatever gets the job done. Just trying to maximize those lens dollars ;).

@zanshin825 I buy a lot refurbished stuff and put extended warranties on them. Nikon 80-200mm f2.8 for $399.95 and a 3 year warranty for $49. Nothing like the $65 Nikon 50mm f1.8 I bought for $65! I can see a 16mm f1.8 Viltrox. Something I would rarely use but would be fun to have. The good news is we know what we are needing or wanting. There are a lot of people that are clueless. One of the Sony forums I am on there are a lot of people buying the camera body and know nothing about what lens to buy. -R

@robertc.maxfieldiiphotography Great for low light and architecture, and a reasonably priced way to try some astro photography. Fun lens; better quality than expected.
