I am actually keeping track of the temperature and my daughter's daily mood in my knitting journal this year. My daughter is 14 and the moods from day to day are wild, so I'm thinking of making a mood blanket instead of a temperature blanket.

I thought of doing the same thing with my 15 year old daughter! Love that idea
@creative27163 жыл бұрын
@LindseyMiller That's a great idea! Why don't you include your daughter in it? Assign a color to a mood, with her help, and have her tell you what mood/color she's in each day. It might make her more aware of her own mood changes, and that she has some control over the colors in her blanket. Hint: make her favorite color the good moods. Present her with the blanket when it's complete. I love this idea...

That is such a creative idea. My daughter is always on an even kill. I have never even seen her angry. We were playing around one day and I asked her if she was a serial killer in disguise...jk. she's the best!!

I just saw this video. I started my first temperature blanket on Sept 28, 2022 to document my and my husband's 15th year of marriage. I love it! I am doing Toni's tunisian crochet temperature blanket pattern. I love it so much that I am thinking of making another one starting in January! Also, I love the colors of this blanket. I'm gonna check out your channnel to see if you have any update videos.

I loved hearing about your Grandma and how she taught you to chain! My great aunt Sylvia taught me to chain and I made a very long chain using white,green, and brown variegated yarn (it was the 70’s😆) She then took my chain and sewed it into a circle on a brown velvet pillow-such a special memory!😊❤️😊

Talking about your grandma crocheting really struck a chord with me. I have always been a knitter and attempted crochet numerous times but never got a hang of it, but my grandma was an avid crocheter. She passed away a few years ago and since then I have been working to pick crochet back up again and try to learn more advanced stiches and patterns.

I liked the idea of temperature blankets but not the rainbow color palette. It was when I saw a blanket using a different palette that I decided to make one as a graduation present using my teen's favorite color and making it over the course of their senior year of high school. The time is nearly here. My eldest finishes his Junior year next month. Initial planning done, yarn ordered. I look forward to the evolution of his blanket over the final year of high school.

Like you, I don't find the rainbow-y temperature blankets appealing, but never considered just changing up the scheme. Now I've got it in my head to do a monochromatic blanket in shades of grey, with black and white at the extreme ends. Uh oh

It’s beautiful so far and I’m sure Eliza will treasure it forever. I have made blankets for my daughters (although not temperature ones) and my youngest daughter will be taking it with her when she goes off to college in September. Currently I am knitting her a Harry Styles cardigan which is most excited for! If you don’t know what it looks like, give it a google- YIKES! Not what I would wear but it makes my heart happy to see how much my daughter loves it♥️. Have fun with Eliza’s blanket- it’s sooo worth it!

I had no interest in doing a temperature blanket (or scarf) until I saw this. I agree, living in Minneapolis I think I'd do a 5 degree difference, otherwise the blanket would be rows and rows of the same colour each month, which is okay, but I like a "scrappier" look. Now to check my stash for 12-14 different colours!

I need to tell you, that now I'm thinking about starting this kind of blanket. I'm not sure if I want so colorful and random temperature one, but maybe my favorite neons with shades of grey will look nice on my couch? Hmmm... Seeing your huge crochet fabric in front of camera I think I want something similar in my life, especially because I don't reach for knitting needles lately, so maybe with crochet hook it would be easier and faster to make and perfect for leftovers as well!

I absolutely love that colour palette! Being its a year later I'm gonna need to look for updates on this blanket. I love the ones that vary from the standard temp blanket format. I learned of temp blankets in 2021 and I considered making one but never thought of it again until 2022. I did start one this year and i chose the "traditional" rainbow scale since I love vibrant colours. Though i've chosen to do the highest & lowest of every day with a granny square design. I'm also planning a retro temp blanket for my birth year. Not planning as in im for sure going to do it, just getting all my numbers together in case I do. This one I'm thinking of an hourly blanket in a blue/purple gradient colour scheme. I have a spreadsheet set up as a visual so it might never be more then digital. XD

Hi Stacy, the blanket is beautiful and thoughtful. I just came across your channel, been thinking about making a temperature blanket, I had just recently watched Tony's video on the subject, there's alot to consider before starting a big project like that. I do like bright colors, but thinking of toning it down w/ muted shades, and making smaller temperature/color ratios so 1 color doesn't pool to much. I too live in Mi., near flint. I've found 4 other channels who are from here too.

I am doing a blanket for 2021. Moss ripple stitch pattern. I went with knit picks, cooler colors for the cooler months and warmer colors for summer. I am crocheting it for a town in far northern Minnesota and am doing 1 row for the low temp and 1 row for this temp. Huge temperature swings there are making this STUNNING!

I may need to learn how to crochet just because of this. I've tried temperature blankets for two years now (unsuccessfully). I have yet to find the right yarn and stay committed. I love your color palette also. I think that could've been my dislike of the colors or my lack of skills, but both years I ripped them both out.
