Wow, what an amazing lineup of tomato 🍅 varietals together with tasting profiles and customer interest. Very inspirational. Can’t image how large your overall garden space is to accommodate everything. FYI, last year I grew San Marzano up here in the ADKs zone 4 with great success. We made lots of wonderful sauce. Mild, slightly sweet and not at all acidic. Going to add some Amish paste this year to the lineup. Keep up the good work !!

Help!! Trying to find a prolific, tasty, heat-tolerant RED or PINK SLICER to grow. Maybe Trip-L-Crop, Pink Oxheart, German Pink, or something like Better Boy or Brandy Boy ---which do you most recommend for a new gardener who LOVES maters? Have you tried Sart Roloise or Midnight Sun? Sart Roloise has got a fruity flavor and it's gorgeous. Midnight Sun is also beautiful and tasty. The plant tends to look wimpy but then it produces these big yellow/pink/orange heart shaped tomatoes. I've been growing them both for several years. They might be something to look into. Thanks for the reviews of your tomatoes. These are always helpful.

We are enjoying a cherry tomato called Black Cherry this year as well as Sungold, Isis Candy and Purple Bumblebee (which are HUGE). We're also enjoying Paul Robeson and Dr. Wyche's. Cherokee Purple is a standard in our garden and this year we added a paste tomato called Wessel's Purple Pride (a cross between Cherokee Purple and Green Sosji) which is divine. German Pink rounded out the roster of favourites.

I've grown so many but a couple that always stood out because I love high umami given by the glutamates in tomatoes with a nice sweetness and bit of acidity is what I look for and they most the season I only feed fish emulsion. It just makes tomatoes taste to their peak potential. But two I always love how they turn out are the medium heirloom Green Zebra (such a well rounded and balanced tomato with loads of zingy flavor, umami, sweet and acidity) they're probably the best all around tomato go reading fresh, in salad, BLTs, tomato sandwiches, tacos to Pico, just by themselves with home cooked meals. Then the Sungold variety. They are flavor bombs there's nothing like them as cherry sized are my absolute favorite to grow because they pack the most flavor... There's several black cherry varieties that come close but those first two really I could live on and use of there were no other choices.

You have to get them in ground now and need your starts to be at least 8-10 week transplants. I start my plants New Yrs. The name of the game is timing . You gotta beat the high Temps which come on hard and fast! Also get some powdered copper fungicide and sprinkle lightly in each hole you plant your tomatoe in. I'm in Texas zone 9a but I'm from Nola so I do hot and humid all day. You can be successful here you just need to time it perfectly. Best of growing to you.

I've raised the German orange strawberry tomato. I'm not a lover of yellow tomatoes, but that tomato has a lot of flavor and I highly recommend it. That is one of the best varieties not to split anywhere. It has been higher at disease resistant in my area of South West VA. I was able to count on it, especially during a bad year for the purple tomatoes and other varieties. It gets quite large and nearly blemish free, so there's almost no waste. It makes an excellent canning tomato, since there's less tomatoes/bu to clean and process. The tomato will need mixed with other tomatoes during canning, since yellow tomatoes are known to have higher ph. It gives a beautiful jar presence when canning whole tomatoes and mixing in some red, purple, and green varieties. The inside of the tomato is meaty with low volume of water. It sells well in my area and I usually recommend it for sandwiches, since it has lower water and doesn't soak the bread, high flavor, and covers the entire sandwich. The seeds are usually a little harder to find and sometimes a computer search is necessary. I've gotten mine from Renaissance Farms. It is in the same category as the Oxhearts. Some people were even buying tomatoes from me for mainly the seeds, because it was such high quality.

It's a golf ball sized apricot-orange colored tomato bursting with sweet, luscious flavor with a hint of fruitiness and acidity having very good productivity Another would be Earl's Faux. It's a deep pink beefsteak and is my staple tomato. Balanced, smooth and rich on the sweet side. Prolific and productive. It's been a consistently dependable tomato for me here in the Midwest Others many might not be familiar with that I'd recommend include: Red Barn Wanda's Potato Top Llyod E Fry Oncle Remi/Moya Lee's Sweet Wes Lithium Sunset Bear Creek Alice's Dream Tondo Con Pizzo Carolina Dusk Kiss The Sky I typically plant mid-season tomatoes.
