Ruby chocolate isn't actually from a different variety of red cocoa beans. It's the same cocoa beans used to make normal chocolate, the beans are just unfermented so they keep the reddish color. Because of this, some argue that ruby chocolate is not a "fourth variety" at all

Chocolate is great. I don't think it's chocolate "hate", so much as an acknowledgement that chocolate overpowers other tastes. I'm not sure if someone else answered this, but the ruby chocolate kit-kats are still nuts & cranberries (that's what the kana say) but the chocolate coating is ruby chocolate. It is a variety of chocolate different from milk, dark, and white and has an almost tangy berry-like flavor. It has more citric acid in it than other chocolate so that's the fruit-like flavor you are tasting!
