I used to work at a taco bell so I'll give you some insight: -there were always a few people who had a kink for cheesy fiesta potatoes. For some reason the potatoes took an egregiously long time to fry and people went ballistic if potatoes weren't ready -the spicy potato soft taco is the most underrated item on the menu. The only people who got them were hindus, but i get them a lot now (I'm also a vegetarian). They're good regardless; the spicy sauce makes them. Only a buck -the quesadillas are sliced with a special blunt blade. That way, they're sliced in the bag. You grill the quesadilla, drop it in the bag, run the blade, and like magic the quesadilla is perfectly sliced and there is no cut on the bag. Fuckin sick -the power bowls used to be cantina power bowls. They had romaine lettuce instead of iceberg, they had a special cilantro rice and some kind of dressing. Not the worst thing -the easiest way to get an entire building of taco bell employees to hate you is to order a 12 pack when there's any kind of line. It takes forever, usually the lobby line worker has to take over and make 12 tacos, which puts the lobby behind. I don't even know if they have it any more. I feel like they do but it's a small footnote to discourage you from getting it -related: imo the worst single item to make is the crunchy taco. Which sucks because it's the most ordered item. They're just so easy to break. You have to be so delicate at every point in the, um, manufacturing process. Then you have to wrap them at the end, which also breaks them. The finesse it take to not break them is really slow, and then you have to make like 6 more because everyone wants some. When you get a broken crunchy taco, imagine how miraculous it is that most of the tacos go out intact -the only special item that the mexican pizzas require is a specific tostada shell. Everything else is standard. Why they keep taking it off the menu now is beyond me. I know they're making an artificial shortage, but you'd think they'd make more money by just having it. -the cheesy roll up was originally intended for kids. I say intended because for every parent who got them for their kids there was an adult who just had a hard on for them. -cinnamon twists perform a vital function. When we fuck up, we give out a pack of cinnamon twists. They're in a hotbox so they're warm and crispy for people to munch in the car as we un-fuck their order. We give out more cinnamon twists than we actually sell. And yes, this tactic usually works, because it's impossible to be angry with a cinnamon twist in your mouth. -sometimes we would draw dicks in the burritos with beef and sour cream. When you fold the burrito no one is the wiser. -fire sauce is weak. Mild sauce from buffalo wild wings is spicier -at the time i worked there, meximelts and enchiritos were already discontinued, yet they were still on the pos. Some people were in the know and ordered them. The removal of these items is even more baffling, because they use literally nothing outside of standard ingredients. -the sour cream comes out of a caulk gun. It's fun to dispense, except when it jams up -the meat comes out in a special long fork-like thing with a hole in the bottom to drain grease. It fits perfectly in a taco shell and evenly distributes meat in one scoop. It's an incredibly specialized yet ingenious tool that was formulated fairly early in the company's life if I'm not mistaken. There's even a left handed version -if you want to improve your burritos, ask them to be grilled. It takes only a few seconds but it improves them significantly. It adds a sorely needed firmness and crunch to mushy burritos like the burrito supreme and adds a nice toasty flavor. Grilling takes place on a hinged hot plate contraption not unlike a giant flat iron. Any employee who made a burrito for themselves always grilled it, no exceptions. That's all i got. Bye

@@chaseclearwater2758 black bean crunchwrap is my favorite thing on the menu. Everytime i go to taco bell that's what i get. Nothing too noteworthy except for the fact that they're easier to make at home than you might think. All you need is a big ass tortilla that can fold over a tostada. Tortilla down, cheese, tostada, meat/black beans, sour cream, then lettuce/tomato. Fold over one side flat over tostada, then rotate and fold until you get a hexagon. Carefully flip it over and grill it folded side first, then flip it over. Boom - homemade crunchwrap supreme

Quesaritos are same boat. There's no sorcery, it's just a large tortilla, then a layer of cheese (we use the 3 cheese blend and melt it in the steamer), then a small taco size tortilla on the cheese. Then all your ingredients go on the small tortilla (including the sauce, which i forget which one it is but you can buy it in the grocery store next to all the taco bell sauces), then you roll it up and grill in on both sides. When you eat it, you can see the layer of cheese on the outside. Homemade quesarito, super easy. Kind of an illusion that it's a quesadilla on the outside but it's really just a smaller inner tortilla on top of the cheese

Conspiracy theory but: I think that's simply because beans are cheaper than meat. Their menu changes over the last 5 years or so have all been to cut out more expensive ingredients as much as possible. Even the quesadilla is smaller and has like half the meat portion in it than it used to.

The quesadillas have always come on a 10 in tortilla, 1 scoop of protein, a Z of creamy jalapeno, and two blue(formerly purple) scoops of 3 cheese blend. Also, you can get a dorito shell in your crunchwrap or gordita instead of the tortilla for like 20 cents and it's absolutely worth it.

I found the last part where you gave the message about it being a healthy experience plus your portion control and exercise very wholesome. I think this is what's lacking in most (to my knowledge) mukbangs or menu experiments, as it can create a false image when someone may seem to be only eating but are actually controlling their diet and exercising outside of the videos. I enjoyed the video, unfortunately no Taco Bells where I live (Singapore) but we do have burritos and tacos, so Imma be getting that soon!

hi, ex-taco bell employee here y'all want the sauce? like, the GOOD stuff? 1) Adding chicken/steak to an item costs a dollar-- so getting a dollar-menu item and adding chicken/steak is a great way to save a bit of money! 2) Any boring menu item can be improved just by adding one of the sauces-- of which there's currently 4 at most locations. They are: -Jalapeno Sauce (the premier Quesadilla sauce, also present on Cheesy Bean and Rice Burritos). *** this is the good shit, and costs like 10 cents only. 9/10 -Chipotle Sauce (the sauce on Quesaritos, Spicy Potato Soft Tacos, and most new taco bell menu items get it too) *pretty good but not as flavorful as the Jalapeno Sauce. 6/10 -Avocado Ranch Sauce (doesn't normally go on much, but is present on the Chicken Chipotle Ranch Burrito for $2.00 at some locations). ***this stuff's best on anything without nacho cheese sauce. 8/10 -Spicy Ranch Sauce (the replacement for the Baja Sauce-- it's the Cheesy Gordita Crunch Sauce). ********this sauce is the BEST sauce at Tacky Bell. At its best when it's not competing with nacho cheese-- so it's fantastic with anything else. 10/10 ^^^and best part is, adding any sauce will cost anywhere between $0.10 - 0.50 cents, so it's really cheap to make anything infinitely better! -and bonus: most locations have had jalapenos for years-- and most of the time, there's no official item for them. they're just supposed to be a "free" addition to Nachos Bellgrande (which is a weird decision imo, all items should just have a "spicy" version that gets jalapenos IMO) if anyone has any questions about early-mid 2010's taco bell or looking for specific recommendations, i'm your guy

Taco Bell is actually a great place to order if you're vegan and there's no specialty vegan places around. just order everything fresco style. That replaces all the dairy products with Pica de gallo and something else that I'm forgetting for free. You can also replace any meat with black beans potatoes or refried beans for free. Just verify that the person knows that you don't want any meat or dairy

A lot of stuff at Taco Bell doesn't have steak but the steak is so much better than the seasoned beef in most things. You can always substitute the steak instead of the seasoned beef. Makes everything so much better.

It's kind of a weird thing, but Taco Bell has pretty much always had pickled jalapenos available to add to items, but it has barely ever been a default ingredient in anything. I worked there from 2002 to 2012 and jalapenos were always there but not used frequently. Anything else would probably have been axed, but they have a much longer hold time than most ingredients.

Cheesy fiesta potatoes are pretty good as a side option. I only found out about them because I started using the app to order "build-your-own boxes" and the side option is either the basic-ass nachos, Styrofoam twists, or the cheesy fiesta potatoes, so obviously I get those pretty much every time. The main course for me is either the gordita crunch or the crunchwrap supreme, and you can swap the side taco with the dorito taco so it's pretty much all A-S tier stuff for 6-7 bucks (comes with a drink as well obviously).

How good taco bell is really depends on how good your location is. The one in my town absolutely slaps but the taco bells in other towns are pretty bad
