i really love the simplicity of using a limited pallette in art. even though it seems ,,simple,, the contrast between the colours is just beautifull. And i really like how you did the portrait❤️☺️

Thank you so much 🫶 The blue has a lot of dimension at the different intensities of the washes.

I love BOTH your mixed media and single media works! When I paint I always end up using colored pencils at the end too tbh. I think it also ends a good finishing touch!

It's stunning! 😍I love that you didn't overuse the yellow and mostly use the white of the paper : it's just perfect. Also, it is totaly normal that you can't really see the granulation on your hot press paper : the more rough the paper, the more granulating pigments granulate. 😉 But, if the original pigment is super granulating like PBk11 for example, you should see a bit of granulaion on smooth papers too.

Thank you for the input! I didn't think the painting really needed the yellow, but I also felt bad for the yellow pan for being left out hahaha

I really want to get into watercolor, but it is so unforgiving to me. I only enjoy using alcohol markers which I hear is the gateway to watercolors. Hopefully i'll get over my fear soon because this is absolutely beautifully done.

I haven't historically liked watercolors, but I recently have been enjoying them. I just changed my technique and approach, so maybe experiment with several styles and techniques!

Amazing portrait! When I saw the 3 colors I didn’t imagine anything but you beautifully did ! Would you do some urban sketching with the small palette? 🎨

Yes I would! I have in the past but it's always a little intimidating when people come up and watch 😅

Hullo Sara, I do enjoy watching your videos where you use more traditional methods! I am aware that you must continue to create with digital media to stay competitive. I have almost completely abandoned the digital workflow for my current art creation. I did enjoy watching this video and your creative process in watercolor! So lovely and well done.

I'm glad that I can continue to improve both at the same pace. Sometimes I'm sick of either digital or traditional and head to the other for a couple of weeks. When it comes to commissions, I prefer working on traditional commissions!

Are you using real squirrel hair in one video and then painting a squirrel in another? Or is this synthetic? For anyone thinking of trying squirrel just imagine how it feels to be trapped in the wild and often skinned alive after being stuck in a trap for days, or else kept on massive fur farms with non existent animal rights or any protection and in tiny cages with no floors in them so your little feet grip on night and day, piled on top of other squirrels in a highly stressful environment. For a paintbrush. Squirrels are mammals. They developed their nervous system and emotions at the same time in history as us, before we branched off into our respective species. They feel what we do. Is that torture worth a paintbrush? Synthetic squirrel is pretty good nowadays and will only get better the more demand there is. If you disagree with fur in fashion remember that this is also fur.

Squirrel? 🤮🤢🥴🫢

From my understanding, squirrel tails would be disposed of in the process of skinning squirrels for their hide for things like gloves, hats, etc. They are repurposed for use in brushes.
@ohbli_oh4 ай бұрын
Oh so they’re byproducts are they? Because for some reason one thing being horrific and deplorable means another thing made in the same way isn’t? What bizarre logic. Repurposed. This is FUR. These animals are skinned alive. Standard practice. The amount of pain and suffering these poor creatures go through I’m sure to them their tail is a pretty important thing they don’t want you to chop off for some painting.
