Nice! growing up and through till about my 20's i was a skater, flat ground. yeah it's just a lot of fun and you're doing great! if you become a regular skater, i'd just recommend a helmet and some knee pads. but yeah enjoy shredding!

I, being from California, skateboarding is basically a right of passage here. However, the years have gone by and many of the sidewalks and roads in this state are - well - in a terrible state. Hence, skateboarding can be dangerous if you hit a crack, so wear a helmet if you do it on a regular basis.

You should take a look at some of the $200 electric skateboards. They charge fast and go 10+ miles. A good way to go surfing or get around on a boardwalk.

way too many people reminiscing about skating "back in the day" in these comments, I've skated off and on all my life, its never too late to go back out and have a good time. Now a days I am the skatepark every weekend, seeing everyone from 4 years old to 60 years old all skill levels, having a blast.

Skateboarding will help with your surfing. They have similar balance/physical requirements. When skating, start with your front foot forward when you push off then shift it parallel to your back foot. You will find maneuverability much easier. Your videos are awesome.

Suggestion: Do a "How to Fail at____." series. Then when it turns out that you can find pleasure in failure, it is uplifting. Fill in the blank with: Life, Skateboarding (already done, too late), modelling, acting, skydiving, scuba diving, hang gliding, ice skating, making smoothies, becoming a published author, being a playwright,.. the possibilities are endless. The final in the series: How to Fail at being a Failure. Never give up.
