If your transmission is still ok, then drive it till the wheels fall off. Just do so with the knowledge that it could up and die on you. Maybe try putting some money aside just in case. Stay away from anything with a CVT. Toyotas and Hondas are a little more but their engines tend to last much longer. To be in budget you'd probably need something a bit older, but that puts you in the era of not stellar Japanese transmissions. 2000-2010ish they suffered a bit. If you know how to drive a manual transmission though, that doesn't apply. Toyota and Honda didn't have manual trans problems during that time. Oh oh oh! That can be a video series! Watch me learn to drive a manual!

Oh Erika! WOW - This was a fantastic vlog from you. Absolutely loved seeing your bubbly enthusiasm for picking out your favourite cars, simply based on how it looks and makes you feel - especially when you were doing the customisations and watching the prices racking up - that was hilarious. SO looking forward to your next car related video now. Have a great week.

Interesting to see. Didn't know what kind of influence your dad had on you, whether it was old or new cars. Just went STRAIGHT into luxury SUVs lol why not right? All good choices but that Land Rover is ugly. I've seen it in a parking lot. That flat back doesn't work with the rest of the curves, its weird. Range Rovers are beautiful looking but are a maintenance nightmare. I HAVE to bring that up its SUPER important. Going off just your stipulation for looks only I like the Rezvani Vengeance. Dream SUV of mine. Its strange you kinda ignored 4 wheel drive though. You want to travel and surf and you need a good 4 wheel drive to get you to some of the more remote beaches and places. Toyota's are great like the Highlander and 4Runner but they usually don't have leather interiors (you can fix that though at a custom interior shop which Cali has TONS of). Genesis GV80s are probably your best bet and affordable...ish if you like that Porsche style. The Kia Tellurdie is also a possibility and all those choices have green paint jobs with nice leather interiors. Maybachs are Mercedes ultra luxury brand and next to Rolls Royce have some of the most customizable and luxurious interiors. I know my uncle is super stoked about the Porsche SUV and is actively saving up for one. If I had to have a performance SUV it would be either a Dodge Durango Hellcat or a BMW X3 or X5 M series. I'm into overlanding so I honestly would prefer something beefier like a GMC Yukon with a supercharger/turbocharger hybrid, allison transmission, upgraded suspension for rally, beadlock wheels with 44" mud tires, reinforced frame, Alpine armoring (for bears and dumb hunters), extended fuel tanks, 360 cameras with FLIR, all the exterior LEDs, snorkel, blacked out windows, and so much more. Its more feasible than a Rezvani but doesn't look as cool, but I could replace the panels and doors with custom made ones and try to make it look cooler. Honestly a used Toyota 4Runner or Highlander with a custom shop making you some leather interior would be your best bet for your trips. Plenty of room for Kiwi, you, and any gear you might bring. EXTREMELY durable, medium sized for your area to park with, and low maintenance (that's why they are hard to find and are not cheap). Otherwise I would get you the Volvo or the GV80. Both also have 4x4 options and are decently durable.

I'd love to see you go to dealerships and test drive these cars. Keep in mind that the salesperson doesn't know how much money you have. For that matter, you can tell them that "daddy" or your "fiancé" or "boyfriend" is going to buy you the car and they want to know which one you want (in case you don't feel confident enough to walk in and tell them that you're the one buying it). It would help to look like a million bucks before you walk in, but even that is not necessary! People who've always had money don't feel the need to flaunt it and walk into any such place looking like anything that they want. It is the salesperson's job to talk them into spending it. Just act (and be) confident, knowing that you >have< the money. You can even tell them that your rich uncle died and left you a bunch of money and so now you want to spend "a little" of it on a "fun" and impractical item. Whatever your story, just practice it well. Another thing is that Salespeople often have huge sales bonuses. You could have just closed a big sale and are waiting for the bonus to come through. You can say that you are not at liberty to say where you work or what you just closed, but that they'll likely hear about it in the news, "pretty soon now!" ROFL. Or, you can just tell them that you have a Car Channel with lots of wealthy followers who have been hounding you to go and test drive these cars and give them your opinion. Whatever. There's got to be Lots of car dealerships within driving distance from you. And you can even Uber "the last mile" if you want and tell them that your Maserati is in the shop (make sure that you have the make and the model down so that you can complain about how it is a garage queen, having to be taken back to the dealer way too often - never complain about the cost - and that you are thinking about buying a second car because you just Love your Maserati and would Never sell it (just in case the guy wants you to trade it in!) Have fun. Your channel is a great distraction and a lighter, fun subject from all of the other stuff that I follow going on around the world.

14:00 i agree about the Bentley being late in life as my uncle bought his Bentley convertible in his 70's. based on what you're saying in this video, i would say the Land Rover Disco is the one for you. It's not too flashy but has everything. PS - since you're now in Southern Cal, having 4x4 would be helpful when you go skiing b/c you need it for paved roads with ice and snow on semi-steep roads and hills. Something else, you might want to get a pair of Uggs, the true sign of a California girl in winter.

In America you can't buy structural body panels for any model of Porsche if you wreck it. It's totalled you can not repair them as you can in Europe.
@AllMotorNotch
@AllMotorNotch Күн бұрын
that’s not true. most of the newer models require alot of specialty equipment n skills which can def add to repair costs n increase the chance of something like a cayman or panamera being a total loss but something like a gt3 or a gt2rs isnt gonna be declared totalled over cosmetic damage. there are alot of independant porsche approved shops & dealers with their own body shops in the us

Land Rovers are a really bad idea to buy never buy a used one under any circumstance the company builds them where the owner can't work on them some models were built where you have to remove the heads from the block to replace the spark plugs. Range Rover & Land Rover doesn't want the owner or shade tree mechanics working on them. If you earn maybe 200,000 a year go ahead & buy a new one. And as the company demands get all your repairs at the dealer. Maybe you can afford it. Maybe not

What I’m curious about are what cars are designed by females I know the (newest) Acura NSX was, but you really don’t hear or see the industry talking about cars designed by a females I guess you could say the 911 sort of has female like curves to it. ok I really liked the first 2 Land Rover and the Volvo, I could see you driving both those vehicles! But the other 3 are totally pimp lol! and you're not a pimp Erika you're a girl 🤣 Also I'm under the mindset, if you really want your dream car you can have it! So sell your car privately and get as much cash as you can. Then go to a lot and get the car you want, put down a couple grand and get yourself on a affordable payment plan. Because money can always be made, if you don't have a mortgage then you can afford a car payment. You only live once! I would get my dream car but I have a mortgage my dream car is on hold, but having a mortgage is far, far, far worse then a car payment, I would know!

That was fun! That Porsche at the end, Grey with black wheels and yellow brake calipers, looked stunning! The fact that you remember details of cars from your much younger self, like your friends Volvo's display, your dad's cars, etc., and how you notice certain cars driving around town, tells me you have a natural affinity for cars. I wouldn't be surprised if a dealership reaches out to you to review their cars. I think you would do well in the luxury car business. Thanks for sharing.

Just a note. Here in Minnesota (and surrounding States) SUVs are more common than sedans. I've never driven my Jeep off-road unless we're calling driving in blizzards where you can't see the road and the snow drifts are 10-12 inches deep being off-road. Fun video to watch and you appear so excited, good to see.

Lol I love these types of videos. I'm not super big on SUVs bc i lean more "traditional gearhead" but I do enjoy some, and you've mentioned a couple lol. The GLS is so funny to me, the bounce mode just seems like it was made for rappers. And I've always loved the GLS for some reason, the old GL class never caught my attention but when they did their whole rename i noticed it and it made an impact on me. I have one in GTA lol. The Cayenne is another SUV I could see myself driving. I've never sold cars but I think the only brand I could be a seller for is Porsche. And I think the reason why it feels like it's less pretentious it's because they've been around for several generations vs all the others. It's credited with being "the car that saved Porsche" (it actually was the Boxster but it was a huge success and it did kinda pioneer the "upscale SUV" market). I prefer the Macan because it's smaller. I love these "mid size" sporty SUVs that look basically like inflated hatchbacks. The Macan with the TechArt modifications looks incredible to me, same with the Audi SQ5 from a couple generations ago, or the ABT R/SQ5s. They're my "guilty pleasures" lol. Btw i've never actually tried but, maybe you could just literally book a test drive. Maybe the Bentayga and GLS are out of reach and they're pickier with who they let test drive cars, but I don't think a land rover dealer would be against letting a potential customer try out a Defender. Maybe you could try with cars that are "realistic" and if you see that they don't actually ask for any income information or anything before a test drive and a sales pitch, maybe you'll be invigorated to knock on the Porsche or Bentley dealer's door lol.
