I hope that she's ok too. I posted a comment to her "probably my worst day yet | solo trip to LA" video from three months ago. Five days ago (OCT 28) I got an email notice of a reply to my comment. The comment appeared to come from an alternate account owned by her (which has since been terminated for violating KZbin or Google's terms of service). The person pretends to be her, had me make contact through a texting app, wants me to invest in digital currency, and is unwilling to provide a simple selfie to prove that it's her. So did they just spoof her account? Or did they steal her phone and do something with her?

@moleculemagician8616 what makes you think any account that interacted with you is associated with real Erika R? Anyone can make accounts with her or anyone else's name (and post pictures copied from her actual posts) -- its a widespread scam here on YT. I don't think it indicates anyone hacked her account.

@ I’m too sleepy to know right now. I followed the initial link in the reply to my comment, and it appeared to check out. Perhaps I wasn’t careful enough. Also on the texting app the person posted a disappearing picture of what looked like maybe her from some time in the past with darker blonde hair, and also a disappearing photo of what could have been her dog outside in the grass during the day.

@@moleculemagician8616 It's typical scammer behavior, down to the letter. This is always done with no involvement or knowledge of the actual account they're pretending to be.

@@moleculemagician8616 Those are scams. Please don't follow those. Also I have never seen Erika chat with anyone, just heart their post. These scammers have been plaguing youtube for a long time now. All they do is try to get your information to steal your financial stuff or create accounts to steal from banks in your name. You'll know its the owner of the channel when they reply the text is different and their name is highlighted plus its the actual account name and not Erika-R-lets-chat or something like that and yes they can spoof accounts pretty easily and youtube won't really do anything about it. I noticed she just stopped uploading too. I know she really wanted to do this channel and any embarrassment or out of ideas is not something she is shy to talk about which leads me to believe someone either stalked her and scared her or something happened IRL (family issue/personal issue/camera died, car accident while filming, etc etc). She doesn't owe us anything but this is unlike her and is concerning but with no way to contact her and no friends we will never know until she chooses to return if she can. I tried to email her to setup a discord server so myself and others could chat with her in real time and help her with channel stuff and technical stuff but I got no response. It is what it is. I just hope she just got bored or doesn't feel like uploading instead of something bad happening to her.
