Hots has the potential to be the freshest MOBA on the market. Both lol and dota kinda play the same. But hots has different maps, objectives and flow. I like that a lot and I hope the game is revived and crucially, put on steam. I can't justify myself getting back into the game if I have to use the atrocious blizzard game hub. Steam is just superior to all alternatives.

Unfortunately that's unlikely possible, Kevin Johnson left blizzard, i don't see the game revive in the future. I bet those patchnotes are made by an intern or something like that to test his skills in optimizing the game, fixing known issues and a bit of balancing. In my opinion HotS won't go on Steam because it's a Free to play, it works with microtransactions so i don't see the purpose for both Blizzard and Steam to do that.

I looked it up, HoTs was getting 3 patches a year. The diference between this patch and the others is that this one went live in the PBE first

I think for Blizzard publishing on Steam is a defeat. You throw things there when you need a quick audience and that's not a good sign. You need people to come to your store.

HoTs is underrated. Its heroes feel very inspired when compared to Dota and LoL characters. Abathur, Deathwing, and a few more are types of heroes you would never see in those other games, or if you did, it would be a watered down version that is constructed more to the meta than to the character's inspiration.

I hope they keep with the updates and revitalize this game. Such a fun game. I don't know anyone who didnt love it, it just didnt need the forced Esports scene. Its never gonna be competitive with other mobas in that scene because HOTS is too casual and thats the best part about it.

Well, I've heard rumors Microsoft would bring it back, possibly with other characters like Master Chief and Minecraft Steve. I mean, makes sense, the whole game is already here, you just need to add content and not like MS doesn't have a huge library of IPs now. I'd be fine with Crash Bandicoot here, even though, as people pointed, Hogger is basically that already.

Master chief I don't see being much different from Raynor but Steve from mc could be one of those super specialists like abathur or the ogre magi that you control as a team of 2.

Best if they stick with Blizzard universe as it's full of unique characters that would fit well in Hots unlike Steve from Minecraft, maybe make crossover skins like Crash Bandicoot Hogger or Raynor MC

I don't think HOTS is coming back. 5 years have passed doing nothing. The game is old and it doesn't have the amount of content it should have had by this stage. My hope is they restart from scratch, same engine. HOTS 2 (that does not take over the first one like in Overwatch) with updated graphics, different maps, different game modes, maybe just Warcraft heroes with some cameo from Diablo. Not that HOTS really needs it, they could even recycle a lot of staff, but they need to sell a "new" game to get some audience.

Dota 2 is all about immediately muting someone who starts flaming, this literally cuts down the amount of toxicity you experience by like 80%

Heroes of Storm a MOBA which is actually for adults with jobs and responsibilities. Usually either professionals or people without real life spend time on Dota2 or League of legends.
