In this video we visit the observation deck at Los Angeles City Hall.
Visiting the 27th floor observation deck at City Hall is easily one of the best free things to do in L.A. The observation deck provides a 360 degree view of the entire city, including an up close and personal viewpoint of the ever-growing DTLA skyline.
One of the most interesting facts about City Hall is that from 1928 to 1964, it was the tallest building in Los Angeles. Per an order in the city charter, no building taller than 15 stories was allowed to be built. That rule was ultimately overturned in 1958, and new skyscrapers started appearing less than a decade later.
Contrast that to today, when depending on your vantage point, you may not even be able to see City Hall as it's obscured by the rest of the burgeoning downtown skyline.
One key thing for your visit: You have to go on the weekdays, as the observation deck is only open during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays.

Born and raised in L.A. (Torrance 1954) and I just watched this video. It is the first time I have ever seen that deck ! Great Video. NOW I'm a subscriber ! I live in Sacramento , am a member of an L.A. (Southern California Nostalgia) facebook page and love seeing the things I NEVER saw, right next door, as a kid !! Thanks for these little trips. Dragnet brought me here. The 50's version took place here for most of its run. The debut episode was called The Human Bomb where someone tries to blow up the building and Joe Friday fortunately prevents it. Can't find the episode on YT currently but it should be elsewhere.

Downtown is improving at break neck speed. When you take a tour there and you are intersted in comparing the view or just gettin as many differnt angles you can, make sure to hit the Perch restaurant deck as well as the 71 Above restaurant, the famous Standard hotel rooftop bar and the roof top bar at the brand new Intercontinental hotel

LA has gangstalking a crime network with paid cops harassing and torturing people. we are now dealing with it anyone who participates will be DEFUNDED.. and even rounded up . there are holding facilities for these criminals or anyone who participates we will not be involved with crime, or cleaning up the problems these criminals make, that they leave behind !

we hope these criminals will be stopped and they are in fact finally being rounded up / stopped the vandalism, theft crime, etc. we work directly with the city of los angeles and other cities in reporting these things and removing the offenders who try these scams against people in this and others areas.
