Well done! I remember this frustrating boss, the timing is easier said than done because the globe holder will alter it's timing to be slower towards the end, causing one to panic and prematurely corner oneself or get crushed by running into it, also you can die by running into it's shell once it dies. You need a lot of patience with this boss, which the first part drains away quite quickly and Ecco's death chant adds extra trauma. Perhaps it is even more difficult on the harder difficulties. It has been 10+ years since I played this, though I finally got around to playing part 1, which has a similarly tedious last level/boss give or take.
