The fact that they remember how to do things but not who they are or specific life events is not a problem with the writing. That's actually how our memory works. It's broken down into many different types, two of which include procedural and episodic.

On my current re-watch and this one was a massive improvement over the last 3 episodes ...Love the sub plot with Riker and Ro....the ending scene in 10 forward was priceless...lol

Worf in command, Riker and Ro hop in the sack and Picard takes it all in stride. I wish this episode would never end.

I like this episode, but it felt rushed. I think this could've been a good 2 part episode, allowing more time for the crew to "discover" themselves.

I'm OK with data's memory being wiped because wasn't memory wiped on the ship as well? the probe seemed to affect both man and machine

If you do Michael Douglas, do "Black Rain". Douglas and Andy Garcia play NYPD Detectives that get involved taking a Japanese Gangster to Osaka and fuck it up. It's a great cop/thriller/fish-out-of-water movie.

I actually think this brilliant episode would make a great standalone episode of something like the twilight zone. Put the reveal that they are not who they think they are at the end and there’s a great short story here above and beyond Star Trek.

Does anyone know if the crystal Picard has in his hand, the one they are now selling online... Was it always there? Or was it a CGI add in?

Just watched this episode today, after some middling stories, and it was a breath of fresh air. This, to me, was a natural improvement over The Naked Now, mixed in with the intrigue and mystery of Clues. I'm really looking forward to the next one: Power Play. I've heard many good things about that.

Power Play is fun, and a good episode to see actors get the chance to stretch a bit.

I agree with Clay. It's a 4 for me. Enjoyed the Michael Douglas discussion. My favorite Michael Douglas movie: "Falling Down". If they could do a remake with Colm Meany in Michael Douglas's role...that would be great.

My vote for the game episode! Regarding mid-budget films: I once read that they are the most financially risky films. Low-budget films aren't risky because they didn't cost much in the first place and high-budget films tend to make good money via home video sales, rentals and TV screening even if they flop at the box office. Mid-budget films apparently don't make enough money that way.

+TaxOwlbear I can see that. It's too bad, some of my favorite movies are in that range.

If you like the central command space station, you finally have something to like about one of the most horrible episodes, Justice (season 1 episode 8), because it uses the same model as the "god" of the Edo in that episode. 4/5

Women who never have kids, and make lots of money, do not end up happier. Quite the opposite actually. Usually.
