As a newbie sewist, it was so fun to see pattern and fabric recs cause I don't really know where to find those. I love the coat you're making and can't wait to see the finished object!! The dress with the big collar and the ruffled blouse are also so cute and going on my sewing wish list. Also agree with you re-pattern prices. I guess cause I am used to knitting pattern prices, I often have sticker shock with sewing pattern prices! I totally respect all the time designers take to make well thought out pieces, but as a beginner idk if I always want to spend $20+ (on top of the price of fabric) for simpler patterns.

Yes it's so interesting to think about, because does a sewing pattern really take more time to develop than a knitting pattern? I think the work that goes into it is about equal. And nice fabric can get really expensive. I love the fabric from Fableisim you shared the other day, can't wait to see your makes! 🥰

I just finished a braidy loops sweater, and I love how it came out! It was my first saddle shoulder too, it's a very fun construction to work on. And once you're on the body it is a great mindless knitting project. It's such a lovely sweater I'm tempted to make another, or maybe the cardigan version!
