If you don't complete the furniture requirements for the first three plots, they will never auto fill. So you have all the time in the world to save up for NMTs if you want to villager hunt. Also plot no 1 always goes to a lazy, plot 2 always goes to a peppy, and plot 3 always goes to a normal villager. So if you have a lazy, peppy, or normal dreamies, this is the best time to hunt for them because the game will only give you those three personalities on your mystery island tours making it so much easier to look for your dreamies.

and if you decided to autofill your first two house plots, after having invited the smug villager in the campsite, will always be snooty and cranky. But if you start hunting it can be anyone.

So glad you're back! Trash island still exists, which is handy for completing a nook miles card. The irony of hunting for the 30 iron nuggets, is you removed a rock when you first placed your tent. I hope it didn't respawn in the upper level. The ladder comes from Tom Nook when you build the default homes.

I restarted a new island too and wondered about things that may have changed. I was surprised to get a villager early when I went to a mystery island. I wanted Joey! He’s so cute. Also I found myself laughing at the villager dialogue. I don’t remember this being so sharp and funny!

so happy that you're back w a new island! i recently restarted but my vibe has been the opposite of yours bc i've had a particular theme in mind lol (a circus theme--and after WAY too long hunting, i finally found all 10 villagers i wanted/needed lol). point being, it'll be good to enjoy early game and lowkey/chill gameplay through your videos! also mood abt the tool ring--i hadn't played acnh in a long time before i restarted to do my circus island, and i immediately reflexively went to use the tool ring before remembering i had to purchase it. lol and i ALSO have a v specific order that all my tools go in, so i had to rearrange them to fit that, too. lol re: the villager hunting stuff & nmt islands! idr if you find these explanatory comments annoying or not, so if you do, feel free to ignore the rest of this. lol the first three plots will always be a normal, a lazy, and a peppy, so nmt islands will only ever have those three villager personalities show up on them. it's also good because in those first couple days, your move-in queue is empty, afaik, so if you had wanted specific villagers of those personalities, they would've been relatively easy to find. that's why celia (normal), joey (lazy), and dotty (peppy) showed up. which also means that, unfortunately, you couldn't have gotten a koala on that third ticket, bc there aren't any peppy koalas! at least anymore. alas. lol additionally, you can indeed--as you saw--hunt for villagers for those first three plots at basically any point beforehand. the way those plots work is that you have to fill the inside and outside with crafted items, and once you've submitted all the items for a plot, that plot will have SOLD on it as soon as you enter and then leave any building. it's instantaneous. if you haven't gone villager hunting yet it'll autofill once it's complete. if you don't add the crafted items, you can keep it open indefinitely and keep looking. for future plots until/up to the 10th one, i think they give you something like 3 days to fill them before they autofill. separately, i don't think anyone asks to leave until you have 8 or 10 villagers. and then finally, re: nmt islands they removed-- they definitely removed hybrid flower island, which sucks, and if there was a rare fish island, that one is gone. however! they DO still have trash island! i got it multiple times on my (ridiculously long) villager hunts for my new island, and it was super helpful bc i need a lot of trash crafted items for my circus island. lol they do still also have shark fin island in the summer, as well as scorpion and tarantula islands, and a couple different hardwood islands.

Actually that first nook ticket took me to an island and a villager was there. I used a couple more to find one I liked. I think that was a change from the OG when the island would be empty that first flight.

I think you could villager hunt for those three plots right up until you finish adding the required future for each one. So the three villagers you've picked now should go into each of those plots as soon as the furniture is added. :) (but don't quote me on this lol I'm not totally sure 😅)

Once you unlock the airport, the first villager you encounter will come to your island and so on. First three are usually Normal, Cranky and Snooty. Then when you unlock the campsite, the first camper is usually Smug.
