In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Brene Brown writes in her book Daring Greatly "vulnerability is the core, the heart, the centre, of meaningful human experiences." Well if that's true and I have just finished reading her book this weekend - then no matter what set backs your heart experienced before don't let those individual incidents cement your heart into the trunk. Dare to live. Dare to be wrong. Dare to try again. Don't let your past spoil the present. Find champions and good friends who will dare you to live your heart.

Thanks Silvia - wow I have not peaked here in a while and feel very touched by your response. It's a simple message but with huge consequences. Most conflict disappears when hearts open and minds get to work on the true issues that divide but maybe that's my next Ted ;o) Anyhow, thank you for leaving a comment.

@@Maketimecount and now I'm confused. There is the heart, the mind and the brain. I've been following this topic, and people keep using this three words interchangeably.

@@IbrahimOumarrJalloh Hello and thanks for the question. Our hearts are in our chests. They are what we feel expanding when we feel love and joy. And yet, our minds sense that and interpret it for us. Brain is a medical term for the white/grey matter in your skull. But our mind is more than the substance it is made off which is why we still don't quite understand how our minds really work and why we need many different fields in neuroscience to help answer these questions. I hope that helps. I also talk about spirit. In effect I think we are made of four key parts: mind, heart, body and spirit. And how these come together and how we care for these parts matters a great deal.

Great point! In my work and personal experience I see, it's especially good in bad weather because without it - the brain panics and runs away from things or executes radical protocols that are in retrospect regrettable - thanks for that Szia8 -

I don't know if you read these comments but I'm gona post on the off chance that you'll read this. I enjoyed your talk v.much, Magdalena. I also enjoyed you v.much. You have a certain something about you that I feel drawn to. I'm sure many many others feel it too, after all you are very successful in your career and I hope in your private life too. Have you ever or do you plan to ever run your program in Ireland? I would be very interested in attending.

It works for me in business. Also in bad weather conditions, when the driver can't see the road clearly - won't panic and lose the direction. And how about maintenance of the car?
