Letaba Rest Camp Video Walk Through & Elephant Hall Museum Video
The Letaba Rest Camp is one of the first "northern" Rest Camps in the Kruger National Park. It is 50 kilometres from the Phalaborwa Gate, and situated amongst mopane thicket and scrub, as well as riverine vegetation and trees that can be found closer to the Letaba River, after which the Letaba Rest Camp is named.
There are around 120 chalets in Letaba Rest Camp, as well as camping facilities. Letaba has a beautiful Elephant Museum, called the Elephant Hall, that gives you all the information on the largest Elephants that have ever wondered through the Greater Kruger National Park. These Elephants are known as "tuskers", which refers to the fact that their tusks are really large, almost abnormally large. The size of these tusks will blow you away.
Letaba Rest Camp is very well known for two things - the calm and relaxed Bushbuck population, and the birding in camp and along the river and in front of the restaurant. The birding is fantastic and the Bushbuck roam Letaba like it is their own.
The views of the Letaba River are beautiful and a short walk can be done along the perimeter fence, where you can view the animals around the river, as well as the birdlife. We have an article on our website that discusses Letaba Rest Camp in depth.
It is a beautiful camp, situated in a beautiful location, and we love staying here!
Here is a video that shows you everything about Letaba Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park, and in the background of this video, you will hear some beautiful bird calls, all of which can be heard during the year at Letaba Rest Camp.
We hope you enjoy the video! Please like and subscribe for more Wildlife and Kruger National Park videos and content!
