Celestial Warlock is trong after the updates. +Charisma to firespells means you can double dip agonizing blast. (Triple with sorcerer) Go dragon sorcerer to get transmute spell and spell slots Go celestial for pact of the tome, agonizing blast, and pact of the blade. Three builds: Pact of the blade + Green flame blade / Boomingblade Weapon damage + 3d8 + Cha +Cha +Cha Eldritch blast transmuted 4 bolt + Cha +Cha +Cha +Cha +Cha +Cha Acid splash Transmuted 4d6+Cha+Cha+Cha in an aoe It is also the only 5.5e build for coffeelock if it keeps greater reatoration

@Razdasoldier I'm by no means saying the celestial warlock won't see play. In fact I'm looking forward to fun builds like this. However if someone is going strictly warlock no multi class fiend or great old one are most likely to be most played. I was actively avoiding talking about multiclassing because they haven't posted the videos for all the classes yet

Cantrips can't be altered by Transmuted Spell Metamagic; it specifically states a spell of level 1 or higher. But you still have good choices with cantrips, like Sacred Flame, which forces a Dex Save instead of rollling against AC, and it ignores half and three-quarters cover. And, if your DM permits cantrips learned from Magic Initiate Origin Feats (selected at level 1 or through Lessons of the First Ones) to be considered Warlock Cantrips, True Strike is an excellent option, although it only really works after level 5, as a bladelock already can translate the damage dealt by their pact weapon into Radiant (or Force or Necrotic), and TS starts with 1d6 at level 5, up to 3d6 at 17. Stack an Eldritch Smite on top, and you can down most mid range undead quite nicely. It's even better if you've got a light crossbow or a returning weapon infusion on a light hammer so you can stay at range. Starry Wisp, Fire Bolt, Mind Sliver, Vicious Mockery, and Produce Flame are useful as well, and Spell Sniper just makes everything better. I'd give Thorn Whip an honorable mention, just for the 10' yank it applies, even without Invocation attachments.

@@NorseDungeonMaster The only means of altering cantrip damage type is the GOOlock's featrue that allows them to alter the damage type of warlock spells to Psychic. Kind of a niche utility, but it is the only way, outside of Sorcerous Burst, to alter cantrip damage type. I can think of a few ways to make good use of that.

Technically no. They have said in interviews that there will be conversion guidelines for subclasses that aren't in the new PHB. However I haven't seen these Supposed guidelines so I can't confirm the legitimacy of their claims

OK I don’t think having a subclass be picked at third level is a good idea who the hell is my patron? lol I know who I want that should be at first level.

Yeah I agree. I mean I get the desire to have all classes get their subclasses at the same level for balance but you're absolutely right. Picking a patron is a level 1 thing

@@NorseDungeonMaster I think overall I’m not liking the changes in general warlock is the best of the changes but even still the subclass thing is weird and I don’t like how not every subclass made it

@nickanderson55 as unfortunate as it is WOTC is really dropping the ball in certain aspects. I will argue that from what I've seen they have made a handful of good changes in all the classes that I've seen but overall the changes aren't great. But we'll know how good or how bad they truly are in September when we have access to the PHB

@@NorseDungeonMaster nothing says you can’t pick your patron at level 1, but you don’t gain your patrons first gift until level 3.
