@@Fury2580 I think that's the biggest improvement in the 2024 versions so far. There's quite a few things in the 2014 DMG and even PHB that I completely forgot because I never reread those messy sections and picked out the good bits from the bad.

@@emilyz4104 there's so much good info in the 2014 dmg that's just hidden from people who don't read the book cover to cover. So many good mechanics and rules that get glossed over and forgotten. Alphabetized it means that you will probably read the section, even by accident. It's much easier to remember that way.

Not at all. A lot of this isn't new but the old DMG was so poorly laid out that even after reading through the info might as well not existed. The break down of sections and chapters sounds absolutely game changing.

Honestly this has me more excited for the new DMG than anything else, the 2014 dmg has a lot of useful material despite it's poor reputation, but it's such a mess to organise I never remember what is in it and where so I never think to use it, having a specific section I can easily flock to for inspiration and a handful of useful dm facing mechanics is such a good way to make it easier to use to give me more options.

@@cantbelieveimdoingthis7550 Trouble finding or even remembering what was in it. I read the 2014 DMG and I honestly can't remember and wouldn't know where to find a bunch of this stuff. Overall it had great stuff in the book, it was just very poorly organized, and everything was just a grab bag of tools. There were no systems and little actual guidance. Less of a "guide" and more of a toolbox with a few chapters of high level DMing philosophy.

Haha! I had a character that fell into the river Styx! It happened when I had to step away from the campaign for a while. It took several sessions to get him back to "normal". Tibalt now rules over the Domain of Dread, Invidia. "Hail Lord Tibalt! Protector of Lost Children! Light in the Darkness!"

Nah I don't think so.. Pal can become Vengeance or a Fighter/Rogue/Ranger/Sorcerer, a Cleric can become a Druid, Sorcerer, Warlock or Wizard when deity fails

The radio doesn't work, the tires tend to go flat too quickly, and also the engine tends to burst into flames every 5th time I turn left. They made a new model ten years later with a new radio (complete with a nice touch screen), put better tires on it, and said I could buy this new one that was better than ever. They made no mention of the whole "bursting into flames" problem. Me: This isn't a very good deal, especially when they had so long to work on it. You: Why are you being so negative? I just don't understand the rhyme or reason of where to look for what content. I've now subbed to both channels, so hopefully it's less of an issue. But now there are 2 places to look if I want to rewatch a video because the content overlaps but isn't identical. I've figured that out now. I guess I wonder if there are others missing content because they don't know there are two channels. That said, I'm glad the content is available and am enjoying the Reveal videos!

Or maybe this is not your typical Illithid, or this is how one of their abilites work or maybe he tries to conceil not words but said ability? This doesn't sound like anything changed with the old DMG, nor that it's better organized. Alphabetize is a terrible way to organize without categories. Having traps, player boons, npcs, and all that in one unorginized alphabetized list is poorly organized. Imagine if the spell warding bond was between wizard and warlock. Or if something goes by two different names. The book should be organized by when a DM needs what information. Not just arbitrarily.

Read the text of the caption. It literally says "When faced with a troll, there's no time to figure out the right way to hold a shotgun." Modern firearms such as shotguns, revolvers and rifles are all exotic, priceless items in the 2014 DMG, and that's unlikely to change. No character begins with proficiency with them. They have to practice and train to gain proficiency. That art is almost certainly art accompanying the rules for exotic future firearms, just like the jetpack art from the 2014 DMG. Stop assuming everything is AI. It's insulting.
