I've enjoyed this series very much and am in the process of building my own version. I intend to duplicate some of the features you are implementing like boiler bands and in-cab regulator and lubricator. Will you be continuing this series?

Sorry, but i finished it last year as a first step into live steam for my son. And most off camera. But if you need Informations, send me pm to dreamsteam@ gmx.de

Really nice work as usual Chris, enjoyed the video. Do you do any preparation of the brass prior to painting to give a key for the paint (better adhesion)? Cheers, Jon
@dreamsteam82723 жыл бұрын
Hello Jon, thanks for your comment! I appreciate your interest very much !!! The paint is a heat-resistant paint. It is normally used for e.g. exhaust parts in stove pipes. It hardens completely after it has been heated to about 150 degrees, I always wanted to buy a small grill oven for it, these mini ovens for the single kitchen, but I put the parts on a fireproof plate briefly on my wood stove. that's enough. I wanted to paint the tank red but couldn't remove the paint. So the paint is really perfect! And here in Germany it costs around 15 euros per spray can. You don't need primer. Stay healthy Jon! Thanks!

Nice one again! Regarding the gas tank, I assume this is tested in the same way as you did the boiler? To what pressure is that tested?
@dreamsteam82723 жыл бұрын
I just fill it up, and put it into a tank with water for 8 hours.... watch for no bubbles... After it, i let the half load of Gas out, and put it back into water.... still no bubbles, everything fine.... Letting Gas off, cools down the Gestank an conract the sealings extremely *chillfactor*

Schildern Sie Ihr Problem bitte!
