Really excited to launch this campaign publically. We are looking to convert a gold fish farm into a ZERO nutrient pollution environmentally friendly trout farm.
In addition to that we are re-launching the Hedgerow Farm model because if we can get this up and running there will be heaps of room for at least 4 or 5 other enterprises on the 300acre farm.
So to express interest in investing with us get in touch via:
Info@fishfarmers.com.au
or 0432 367 505
Check out what Fish Farmers is about here:
Checkout Hedgerow farm here and stay tuned for some specific updates for this property:

Investing or joining us on the farm via a lease might not be for you but if you love our vision we would appreacite your support sharing our posts or your contribution via Patreon. $1 makes a difference as you help to spread the message.

Once we get the farm up and running there will be a STACK of benefits available to our supporters. Hopefully that will be real soon.
I produce videos on a bunch of topics from bees to prospecting and a stack of stuff in between but many of them show off the use of traditional vintage tools. If you see a tool that you would like for your own I probably won't sell you mine but I may have another in stock or I can get one from France, Germany, Japan or wherever. I make little bit of money from selling tools but mostly I just like to share them and share how to use them.

Thanks DUF. If you could share it around that would be great. Due to the ASIC rules I can't talk publically about the investment returns in detail but I can tell anyone that asks. Bit silly but thems's the rules. Tip though they are pretty solid. Especially at the moment and especially compared to other ag investments..

Since I did this video I've got some new data on pond construction costs. Increasing the valuation of the farm from ~$6mil to ~$14mil. Yes I kid you not! I'd previously based the valuation on the agents estimate of 250ML of ponds with a construction cost of $1000/ML. I've recently got some information on the construction costs of 32 aquaculture ponds in Victoria with a total capacity of 76ML that cost $1.8mil to build. Or $23,600/ML. I knew the figure I was using was undervaluing the ponds and dams because it was based on large farm dam construction rather than ponds. It was also a bit old but I figured it was better to be conservative. I didn't realise it was that conservative. Further more I've started a more detailed survey of the farm to map its assets and how water moves through the management regions on the farm. That shows that breeding and production pond areas have a capacity of ~250mL and then there is at least an additional 100ML of capacity in the gully areas up the hill. These two together increase the value of the farm from ~$6mil to in excess of $14mil. IF and ONLY IF it is used for aquaculture. I've got some more info to pass on but I obtained it off the record. As soon as I can confirm the information from a public source I'll be talking more about this.

Also I've got a lot more information on the ornamental fish trade. I've done another video which talks about that a bit. Basically most goldfish are now imported with a huge environmental footprint. If we get this farm up and running again we can eliminate all those emissions and make some money doing it.

Looks like a great opportunity you've got, Not just for the fish farming but there as you mentioned the other possibilities. Eg, Aquaponic gardening (micro herbs?). Will you have to deepin the ponds too house the trout?. Would you many be running trout or branch out with some natives, selling both fry for stocking to plate fish for the market. Wish I had some $ to get on board. Good luck.

Some of the ponds are over 3m, I believe some are 4m. The main production ponds are 1.8m to 2m but even so they are deep enough. Trout can handle pretty warm temperatures as long as they have oxygen. Getting oxygen to them when the water temp climbs over 22 gets progressively harder but I've kept trout without issue upto 27c. For the first few years we will focus on trout and pond production but yes aquaponics is something for the future. As for other species, we might add some for the fish out operation but they won't grow fast enough for commercial production. The water will be too cold for much growth except in the peak of summer.

@@StuartChignell The possibilities with this would be endless , as you know you can link in and run aquaponics off it as well. Wish I had spare cash flow to jump in but :(

@@brettchanter9317 Absolutely. This way I'll be able to get the business started and then convert over time to ap. I'm hoping this will work versus stating an Ap version from scratch.

I have spent the last 2 months working on getting my parents off the farm they have been on for 30+ years and into town. Another 6 weeks until their clearing sale after already having 2 garage sales. Prior to this year I had about 2hrs experience on a tractor. I now probably have close to 100 and will get even more in the coming weeks. I am starting to hate farms.
