Should have a handle on the drill to keep it from breaking your wrist. Look at the Milwaukee hole shooter that is made for that type of work.

these fry can feed on the green water and can already be full. also check the water temperature & hardness. Medaka fry usually do better in 76-82°F with a hard water (I use shrimp salt).

I'm no expert but I just saw an old video that got uploaded to KZbin where the guy recommended cutting the knots out first when you're deciding where to make your notches jogging, then add more notches if they're too far apart after that. That way the outside of the lot comes off in big bread loaves. I know this is an older video but I'm so glad you posted it as I'm trying to learn more about traditional wood work, tool sharpening, etc

Geez whiz - I was wrong -the drill motor was turning clockwise. Sorry
@kathyern8616 ай бұрын
your drill is turning counterclockwise - normally - when you drill a hole - the drill motor turns clockwise - most drills have a switch that places the motor in clockwise or counterclockwise turning action.

Got no experience with rice fish at all, but you're correct in the white bit above the tail being the stomach and looks to be fairly full in most of them. By the looks of the tank there plenty of food in there for them to eat plus all those other goodies your giving them.

The last time I had work bench surgery was when I was putting a nails in to some wood making a shelf and it went through the side of my finger and bent. So pulling it out was to worst because I was using a razor blade to cut some of the skin to pull it out with a multi tool. I swear that was almost as bad as when I broke my arm it was a 5 1/4 in nail I went in after and they said it it was anymore to the left it would’ve hit the bone and needed surgery for it.

They are annoying freaking bats (technical name). They eat the insects that hang around Tip Top's security lights and we've had quite a number of them make their way inside our house over 30 years. Next time I see 1 I'll point it over your way and send it on it's way.

that would be cool but in my experience they don't take direction very well. I've only ever had one in my house and that was when we lived in Bullarto. Only been married a few months and I got to be manly getting it out of the bedroom.

Supposed to feed two to three days after hatching. Still not confident they are feeding but then some do seem to be growing. But then some seem to be disappearing. Its only my second season breeding fish. Previously I;ve always bought them from the hatchery. When I worked in the hatchery it was with trout and they are easy.

Yeah its not a huge one. But then size with these things isn't the important thing. Hunntsmans grow as big as my hand but they are basically harmless. The Death Adder only grow to about 2' but its deadly.

The closest I've come to getting bitten that I know of was jumping in a fox hole we had dug and then seeing the walls covered in them. I think that's where my fear of spiders come from. I've had a couplie of things keeping me from posting but hopefully those are fully behind me now. Its more aquaculture at the moment, not many plants other than algae and duckweed growing at present.

I had someone decide that they needed the 2 4"x1/2" bolts that keep my tailgate on my 2T truck closed. I was in the carpark behind Eaglehawk pool driving off and the tailgate decided to do an 8ft arc off to the left. Fortunately no cars or kids were hit. Could have been horrendous if it had swung open in traffic.

Theres a torque setting on your drill. Use that. Don't put it into the mode with the "drill icon" that actually means "fuck your wrist up""
@StuartChignell9 ай бұрын
Torque setting doesn't work for these large hole saws. Well it works, stops turning, but not in a way that is useful.

Should have searched for some guidelines on how to and what not to before using a hole saw. Had it in thr drill and wood clamped down, but oh man! The moment those teeth bit into the pine, the drill jerked, jump and went flying over my workbench. Needless to say, I have to take a break for the swelling in my wrist to go down and used the time to buy a drill press. Tork Craft has a nice one - attached the drill to it and slowly (and squinting) drilled through the wood without expanding my vocabulary. Thank you for the tutorial. I'm a home crafter but feel like I'm slowly qualifying myself to up my skills

This video was incredibly encouraging. I'm currently working on installing 4" vent holes in the eaves of my roof. I've never used a hole saw except on doors, so never had a problem with that hole saw bind-up. I have no way to secure my drill and saw other than using just sheer strength and patience. The batteries run out of juice just about the time I do, so that's a plus. I have to install 44 of them. Getting it done, though. Just glad to see I'm not the only one. :)

Yes there is some comfort in knowing that I'm not the only foolish one. I'd rather more people learn though and not have to suffer the pain or share in this particular comfort.

Not sure. I sharpen to feel rather than angle. Harder woods I'll sharpen to a steeper angle, softer woods more acute. Adjust the tools as I'm working with them.

If it's wood, you can run the drill in reverse. It's far slower but highly unlikely to bite and injure your wrist.
