thanks for putting together this comparison! I’d seen all these “raw” switches popping up at vendors and was like, “hmm, something’s gotta have triggered this”, haha, thanks Geon! Also, isn’t a milky top/ink bottom essentially the cthulhu / cream soda formula? I would love if Gateron released a slightly recolored / cheaper Cream Soda, but I assume they wouldn’t want to do that.
@foggytypes Жыл бұрын
gateron asks a pretty penny for ink-based switches, if it involves ink parts it's gonna be pricey. also the cream sodas design is supposedly exclusive to the designer and they can't be reproduced unless he decides so

BSUNs are the best but the switch ticks if you tap the south side of the keycap. The Sarokeys Strawberry Wine also by BSUN have the same exact issue, otherwise they would be perfect switches. Can you look into why that happens or know a way to fix it?
@notsnowyyy Жыл бұрын
so that explains why my strawberry wines sound weirdly ticky LOL did you ever figure out a solution?

I don't know but keygeek raw always feel lubed even i open them out and wipe thw factory lube out. I don't know how they do that but this.. smoothest linear i ever used.

re: how to pronounce "Yueqing Tongda," (Mandarin) Chinese q's are pronounced like English "ch." There's some other non-obvious stuff about properly pronouncing Chinese words, but, if you're just trying to recognizeably pronounce a proper name while speaking American English, it's usually good enough to just get the q's pronounced like "ch," the x's pronounced like "sh," and the c's pronounced like "ts."

Have you heard any reports of the Keygeek Raw getting stuck? This has happened to me so many times I've had to unbuild my board. Random keys get stuck (not working) and the leaf is bent toward the right side of the housing getting caught on it. I love these switches and this is so disappointing...

Confused about the purpose of each manu making RAW switches if all of the switches have different materials, springs, and stem lengths. Basically you could take any 6 or 7 switches and compare them and you would get similar variability. Unless they were all trying to go for the _same feel_ but using their own unique materials. It's as if none of the companies know how the scientific method works.

Keygeek and gateron sound nice, kinda reminds me of bubble wrap for some reason. I’m new and have no idea what to get or where to get started. There’s so many switches, it’s overwhelming and there’s no way to really test them all out to see what I’ll like

Honestly, Huano switches are among my favorite switches... the Ajazz Peach is a PC top & bottom with POM stem but the spring was SUPER light and they were not very good stock, but instantly transformed when lubed. For the creamy sound fans, it's a great option especially with a spring swap to something more normal weight.

interesting comparison and looking forward to pt 2. weird that huano decided to put a hole at the bottom when it's not billed as a "silent" switch (even though this is only otherwise seen in the haimu silents afaik)

All of these switches offer 90% of the same experience and given a blind test you're not going to scrutinize and deliberate how you much preferred one RAW linear switch over the other. This hobby has quite a lot of brainwashed individuals.
