"All you have to do now is move in" 14:46 Well... you do have to pay first, presumably... What are the options for payment? Cash from ATMs is expensive. How about Credit cards, Debit cards, Google-Pay from a cellphone, Wise-transfer of baht from a virtual wallet directly into their bank account, after they provide a Clabe number, or are there other options?

Mom and Pop owned accommodations are not likely to be interested in credit cards, Corporate landlords or big agencies might accept them. Most folks just use cash, a direct payment via QR code or PromptPay. Be sure to watch the episode “Your Money in Thailand” to see all the various options. Also, please subscribe. Hi. I LOVE your videos! I am looking to visit Thailand for 2 months (early January-late February 2025 for about 45-50 days). I need to decide whether I want to retire there! I have a couple of questions. 1) Can I enter Thailand with no Return Flight Departure ticket? I would like flexibility to decide when to return home. I know I can get a 90 day tourist VISA upon entry but not sure if I also must have a return ticket booked. 2) I am a beach girl and after watching your video about all the 8 regions in Thailand, I am leaning toward living in Krabi. I understand there is relatively large an expat community there. I will not know how to speak Thai and do not plan to buy a car. I am leaning towards a condo to provide me with security (I will be traveling alone). I also need to be walking distance to grocery shops, etc or be able to call a tuk tuk (I understand there are apps for this). Would you recommend this area for me? 3) From Krabi, I want to travel to other parts of Thailand to explore them. Will it be easy to get domestic flights or transportation within Thailand from Krabi? 4) Would you recommend that I wait to sign a lease in Krabi until I am there to see it? Traveling alone makes housing more challenging for me. I need to be somewhere accessible to transportation, food and most important, safe. I assume there are some safe good hotels in the area to use as a base first? Thanks so much. Your website is awesome and just want I need!

Hi! Lots in your message and I’m currently in Songkla shooting week 10’s video, so I’ll be brief for now and come back to you a bit more later. 1) Generally,you don’t need a return ticket, but often the airlines see it otherwise. If you enter on a visa extension, the airline will almost certainly require it. 2) Krabii is a good choice based on what you are looking for. 3) Air transport will go out of Phuket., not far away. 4. I don’t recommend you sign a lease until you’ve been there at least a month. There are lots of great accommodations and Krabi is quite safe. Its better to find the BEST location for you to stay long term before making a commitment. Don’t forget to subscribe; lots more to come!

When you live in an apartment building like yours on the top floors, what do you do with your trash bags. Do you have to carry your rubbish bags all stinky into then lift and down to the street?

Thanks for watching. Just about all higher end condos and apartments will have a trash room on each floor. You deposit your trash there and it’s removed daily. However, it’s a good question to ask when choosing an apartment. Don’t forget to subscribe!

I plan on leaving the US and getting the DTV. Problem is that I'm a country boy and want nothing to do with the big cities. All I ever see for content is city living. Do you have any advice you could give me to stay away from cities?

Hi huthut. I myself lived on a coffee plantation in Northern Thailand near Doi Angkhang in the early 2000s. In fact, I visited the place I stayed there to shoot my upcoming video on Healhcare. It does require some language ability to live a TRULY rural life. However, you haven’t said HOW country you like. Let me know more what you mean by “country” and I can give you some suggestions. My first thought is Lampang…

@@LetsLiveinThailand Thank you for the reply. I was born and raised in Montana. My parents have 40 acres in the mountains and helped my grandparents on their farm. The nearest town was 40 mins away. I recently retired from the military and need a change from the states. At 44 years of age I still have plenty of years in my life. I do have 8yr and 4yr daughters that would accompany me later on once I've found a place to stay. My thought was to take up a class to learn the language and culture to get the DTV.
