Hey Jeanette! I like yr 2 camera view but I love the suspense of 1 camera. Omgggg yaayyyy celadons!!!! I’m so glad u like them! Thankyou for the shoutout. I have a tip for u for June bug. Bin it!! Haha. Lovely new combos. Nat xx

@mudmagic407 oh Nat you made me laugh out loud! I'm not disagreeing with you on the June Bug tip!!! Have to be honest it's harder filming with the 1 camera surprisingly, have to keep remembering to come do a close up lol

Hi Jeanette, wow you have got amazing results from the dipping glazes, the floating chrome is stunning, you could def bottle that, it would fly off the shelves. Love the breaking on the white too. Great results with all the Amaco test tiles too😊 I do like both ways with the cameras, the iver head is handy but I do like the bigger picture of you, you feel more present if that makes more sense❤❤

@ceramicsbyjulia8552 Thanks Julia, I'm so pleased with the Floating Chrome! Didn't expect it to have such a polished finish for my very first dipped piece! I get what you saying about the one camera, I'm going to try a few variations in the new lower studio and see what works best. Thanks as always for the support and feedback x

Oh honey I know how it feels to be on different floors! Lol. I have my glazing in the basement then most of my studio where I handbuild and slipcast is in the garage but since it’s winter I have to bring it all in and then my kilns are in the shed!! I am constantly forgetting things in one area or another. Congratulations on the new site! I’ll check it out now. ❤❤

Lol, i feel your pain lol. It's taking me a while to remember where the new locations and homes for some things are! I'm layering up the jumpers when I go in the studio as ita cold in the UK too now but thankfully not too cold for the clay and glazes, just mere humans lol. I rampnup the heating and toasty in 10 minutes lol.🥰
@micheledickey4066Ай бұрын
@ Oh how nice! I don’t have heat in the garage but it is attached to the house and we got a new big rolling door that is much more insulated but it’s still to cold to work in and would definitely freeze my clay! We were going to put up a big heavy sheet of plastic to separate my smaller area with the rest of the garage but it’s gotten too cold to do it now. 🥹

Thanks for the kiln opening and glaze results, like the 1 camera rather than split screen. I use Amaco celadon glazes and love them, Cheers Jen

@JenniferBrooks-ur5qu Thanks Jen for the feedback, really appreciate it. May go back to one camera in the New Year. I'm thinking I'm going to need to try more celadons after playing with Weeping Plum and Marigold! I'll need more shelving lol

Albany slip and the snow needs carving to separate and only one third down for a more dynamic look. River rock is not one of my favorites but with snow it has possibilities

Hi Jeanette! Thanks for sharing your tests. Now I'm going to have to buy floating chrome! LOL. I feel you. on the various locations for the craft. My kiln is outside and it's multiple trips to load and unload, but at least we're self sufficient, right? Imagine having to haul everything to a studio to fire? Good luck at your Christmas market! Hand enjoy your visit with your son!
@FarForestCeramicsАй бұрын
@patspotpage if only you could buy floating chrome ready made lol! But worth all the effort, makes me more optimistic to make up some of the other tests I did too. You're right being able to have a studio at home is so precious, at least I only have one flight of stairs between my two studios, and hopefully after some more reorganisation and planning I'll have all my equipment and tools in the right place for each process lol

Oh Jeanette thank you as always for sharing so much with us!! I haven’t even tried the June bug or blue spark because I’ve seen so many not getting good results and it’s so expensive. But do try and find some combos with them online and hopefully you can find something you like and can use them. I do like a sneaky peak into the kiln but it’s not a huge deal. I really like the river rock combo!! For the numbers on the test tiles maybe put the numbers on the bottom!? Oh I absolutely love using the manganese wash on the rims of things. It flows so beautifully!! The last two, are those glazes you made yourself or are these premade? I think the last one that turned out well would look amazing on a tree!! The texture would be stunning!!!

Thanks Michele as always for your feedback and encouragement. Yes my video number 11 posted 30 minutes before this one was all about me making my first dipping glaze and attempting to dip! That was not as easy as I'd thought! Made my first 2 dipping glazes in Ivory and Floating Chrome. I adore the chrome!!!! Found this filming a lot harder with just one camera too! Lol Yes i might add my numbers on the bottom in future, as I snap them off when fired anyway to add them to my test tile wall hanging up. Good suggestion! Definately some new combos id like to try out for sure. Next on the list is frozen pond though lol 😆

@FarForestCeramics21 күн бұрын
@kjefferson3014 thankyou so much. The glaze on the cups was a dipping glazes from Old Forge Creations called Floating Chrome from his First Five recipes. It's stunning!

But do try and find some combos with them online and hopefully you can find something you like and can use them. I can’t believe the difference in those two mugs!! Thank you so much for doing that test!! I wash all of my pots when I bring them in from the kiln but I set them on towels on the counter with a fan to dry them. I allow them to sit for several days. Then I put them away on my shelves. It takes me a very long time to glaze everything since my kiln is so large. It holds about 225 pieces in each bisque. But I will make sure to keep this in mind. Thanks hun!!❤❤❤

I was sure I'd replied to this Michele, but not understanding why its not showing! I have no idea why I bought June Bug and I wish I hadn't, as I dont seem to get very good results with it. I'll keep persevering but don't hold out much hope. I did some searching and found others had more success with it hot and thick - but that didn't make much of a different this time. Isnt it crazy the difference between the two mugs! I usually wash and leave to dry overnight but would never have imagined it would have such a big impact! You learn every day. WOW 225 pieces in a bisque!!!! HOw many litres does it hold? That would take me 6 months at east to fill lol
@micheledickey406626 күн бұрын
@ No worries. The difference is just crazy! I did an experiment with 2 of my pieces as well just to see the difference too! My kiln is a bit 10 27 which means it has 10 sides and is 27” wide but that includes 2 1/2” bricks so I use 22” shelves. I think she’s about 30” high or so. I did mostly slipcasting but I can usually get about that many in a bisque. I average 60 pieces for a glaze kiln which really makes for quite a long video. lol. I’ve filmed myself many times but as you know I’ve yet to put one out there yet!! I do plan on starting a channel this next year! I have big plans so we will have to see.
