Interesting series, thanks for doing that work. The accumulation change for Push-Backs sounds like a good idea.

Nice series of videos Ken. I am about to begin my own Italian Wars project in January and was looking for rules that would do the job. I believe you have found them for me!

@@YarkshireGamer It will be worth waiting for. Again Ken, thank you for the time you have taken to share your game, the rules and your opinions today.

Hi, some interesting rule mechanics. Our homemade rules are nearly 40 years old. We had maximum pushbacks and it did prevent endless melees. We love the look of your games

Many thanks, the little change we made to make the puah backs culmative made a big difference to playablity. Welcome to Yarkshire Gamer 👍

I have a question if you don't mind. What 'flank/rear attack' do for you rules wise? I cant seem to grasp it...
@YarkshireGamer5 жыл бұрын
It was something that confused us as well, mostly because the rules are split between page 20 and page 21, headed joining combat. I'll try and help. Cavalry charged in flank turn to face if not activated, become disordered if they have activated. Pike blocks are not disordered when charged in flank, all other infantry are. If contacted in front and flank fight as normal if charged unit has not been activated and split casualties proportionately between those attacking. If charged unit has activated previoisly that turn it fights back with only 1d6 per base in contact. It's something we will probably look at in the future 👍 Hope that helps

What are you using for those pikes mate? They look like the perfect thickness & they're straight!!!
@YarkshireGamer3 жыл бұрын
I use steel pikes, thats real steel 😄 very pointy and strong and known to draw blood. I buy mine from North Star, they are 100m long and come with a formed pike head. I cut them down to the same size as the Perry Plastic ones
