Hi Ken, really enjoyed this one, Andy was great to listen to! As a former T.A Soldier (mid 80s) my first visit to Pirbright Guards Depot probably convinced me not to join the Regular Army and I remained a Weekend Warrior....Those Guard Corporal's and Sergeant's were Absolutely bloody terrifying!! 😁👍

Impressive painting on the British. The problem may be that many wargamers now are retired like myself and are less able to purchase ready painted figures. I am still purchasing small amounts of new figures to paint myself. Although my painting is not to such a high standard I still enjoy what I do.

@andrewberry9307 it's all about finding the right market, I know people who pay two or three times more than what I'm asking for the right figures, I think I need to do a full unit of 10 next time and see if that makes a difference 👍

Nice painting on the WW2 figures, but I honestly think £30 for plastics is a tad steep. I'd kick off at £15 and see how you go.
@YarkshireGamer28 күн бұрын
@peezebeuponyou3774 plastic, what difference does that make, they took me 4 hours to paint, that's about £7.50 an hour, £15 is an insult, the sprue alone would cost 7 quid or so, so you want me to work for £2 per hour !

I remember the Airfix WW2 rules. They were the second set of 'proper' rules I used, the first being Battle! Practical Wargaming by Charles Grant. I have the Martin Piper WW2 rules, from 1974, that the Airfix rules are based on. "Yarkshire"? I come from Lancashire (the guys who beat you during the Rose War and always at cricket!) Have to say though your Prussians are so well turned out. I have painted Prussians at most scales and found it a challenge because of the dark colours and have resorted to highlights which do not really reflect the real appearance of the Prussian forces.

@JeffDavies-i8q Cricket is that the game where Yorkshire just got promoted and waved and Lancs as they got relegated 🤔😀 I use a black Undercoat, base layer of Vallejo Dark Prussian blue, washed with Dark Tone, then lightly drybrushed Dark Prussian BLue, with a slightly lighter blue on the elbows 😁👍
