Just wanted to thank you for the great instructional videos you are putting out. I am not going to turn my NA8 into a Spec Miata racer, but I am interested in learning about the car. I inherited my Miata from my mother-in-law and it has been rarely driven and winter garaged since 1994. It is in perfect shape with 70k original miles. I am in the middle of refreshing the suspension system and have added some frame rail reinforcements and new door bushings to help tighten it up a bit. I don't plan to track the car, but I do like to drive it aggressively on the weekends. I just regret the lack of good 14" tires as I do not want to change the stock rims. Looking forward to all of your future content. I like all the little bits of pro tips you add to the videos.

Wow, such a great gift and with low mileage. Get that bad boy back on the road and enjoy the Miata life. Let me know if you need a video on something.

@@aracing Thanks Al! I will be upgrading the shocks, springs, & anti-sway bars and am thinking about doing all of the bushings and engine mounts as well. The OE rubber bushings look good, but at 70K miles they must be nearing the end of their service. I just did this on another inherited vehicle (El Camino), and am looking forward to the improved handling. I have seen videos on changing out the Miata suspension, but not so much on the bushings and ball joints. If you have the opportunity to work on ball joints that would be great! I've read the tutorials on Miata.net and I will be using the Flyin' Miata 2.5 Koni suspension package.

@@jacklandismcgowan1413 Discount Tire has Toyo Proxes R888R competition tires in 185/60R14, R compound, that are DOT certified. I just don't think I want to run competition tires for a daily driver. Toyo recommends 160 - 220 degrees operating temperature for optimal performance. Treadware is only rated at 100 so it would be expensive to run them at $194.00 per tire, plus I am not going to be screaming around a track heating the tires up for max traction.

do SM rules allow running an internally regulated 1.6 NA alternator on NBs? that could solve issues

Not till you get caught. I think you would have to highly modify a 1.6 alt to fit in a 1.8. I think the big one will be the pulley as they have different shaft sizes.
