Lets Talk About Delegates

This new series of videos will explore the different game concepts and how they are implemented in Epic's Lyra Starter Project. In this video we discuss the use of the various delegate functions. Ne they dynamic delgates, callbacks or event dispatchers.

It is complicated, but very powerful and key to making games that perform well. I don't think I explained it well enough. I was trying to keep the topic simple, but I think it needs more details for it to become real.

You also want to use Delegates / Event Dispatchers (Blueprint version) for you UI to update things because if you are using Functions / Binds (the way most tutorials show you) they are called every frame which is actually reasonably performance heavy AND if you are doing silly things like Casts or even just basic maths to convert current/max to get % (every frame) they can get really impactful for no good reason.
