It's been MANY years since I've made a card this size, and now they are apparently called Mini Slimline Cards. Now that I have made one I really like the size again! In fact, I have a Pop Up St. Patrick's Day Mini Slimline card done and ready to send to a friend for her March Birthday, as well as five St. Patrick's Day Mini Slimline cards to send to the grandkids. I'll be sharing those in a few weeks. I had found the #8 envelopes in my stash and was quite happy to see how well they work for this card size (3.5 x 6"). I hope the information in the video helps explain a bit more about this popular new size of card!
I have a coordinating Blog Post here: paintedmountai...
Measurements for my Fold Flap Slimline Card:
Cut card stock 7 x 6"
Putting the 7" edge at the top of your scoring board, score at 1-1/4" and 3-1/2".
Fold your card in half at the 3-1/2" scoreline, to form your card base
Fold the 1-1/4" scored edge to the front of the card.
NOTE: I adhered the flap right to the card front using thin foam tape, but most of the A2 Fold Flap Cards I've seen utilize pretty patterned papers and have the card open as more of an accordion.

I just about finished off a 6x6 juvenile paper pad featuring dogs at Christmas, using this fold. I made about 12 cards, which our grand nieces and nephews will be getting. I just need to add the cutaparts and greetings to them. The envelopes I bought do have the security envelope design, but since I collect them anyway, I put some pieces of red, green, and blue patterns on the cards also. They make nice neutral pieces, without clashing with busier paper pad designs. And kids love patterns. I was going for the color. The blue in the paper pad comes really close to the envelopes. This fold is easy, but looks like we put a lot of effort into them. It's one of my favorites.😊

Same here! I’ve got a box of the security lined envelopes and my goal is to use them up! But I feel the same way about them as you do. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for commenting! I know you can line those security envelopes but I'm trying hard to keep my cards mailable these days - I mean, with a single stamp. And with all the layers I have going on my cards (inside and out) - lining the envelope adds to the overall weight.

What is the name of the glaze pen? Love your cards. Always very well explained on how to make. You are very talented

Thank you! The Glaze Pens are by Sakura and I usually order them from scrapbook stores online (In the US and Canada). I like the black Glaze Pen for detailing eyes etc but they come in lots of other colours too. You might even try office supply stores for a multicolour pack! Hope that helps 😊

You could line the inside of the envelope with a contrasting color.

That is very true! However, I know the Grandkids aren't even going to notice so I am keeping those blue lined ones to use for them and keep the plain white ones for my other cards. It might be fun to line those ones though! Thanks for commenting!

This would have been a much better video if you would have taken the time to make the card for the person watching

There are lots of KZbinrs who do full videos for every card they make. I chose to do walk throughs for most of mine instead of taking the time to cut and glue papers onto a card base on video. I do have many tutorials as well - and more coming, but it sounds like my channel is not what you are looking for. That's fine - variety makes the world go round!
